    Always ending on that subtone and shaking the head... what a fantastic display of these great mouthpieces. Still waiting on my Gaia 2 7* on backorder.

    Thanks for this video! I'm a big fan of Theo's work. I have an old NY Link he refaced about 20 years ago, and I owned his original model mouthpiece he was hand making before his production line. I later swapped that one for a GAIA which I really like. Great to hear all models side by side with his comments about them.

    I’ve got 2 mouthpieces from him. A Gaia 2 for Tenor in 7*, and a Durga 3 for soprano in 7. I love their ligature as well as their mouthpieces.... you either have a Theo Wanne, or you wished you had one...

    There's a surprisingly big difference in sound between the Gaia hard rubber and metal, I tried an HR yesterday and really liked it, but the metal just sounds so much better

      Comhghall Geraghty no offense dude, with
      Theo Wanne mouthpieces you get what you pay for. I own the ambika and I plan to get the Gaia in 7*. The amount of craftsmanship is at high tolerances. Go to a high end music store and try the mouthpiece you like based on the sound you want to achieve... you will be sold like I was....

    Have a hard rubber GAIA II #7 bought from you last summer and played on an alto Selmer SA II and I love it. Recently bought a tenor Selmer Series III with a soloist D. Wondering whether to stick to tenor GAIA II #7 or step it up to a metal Durga or Shiva. Any thought?

    Which Theo Wanne mouthpiece would you think would be best for a Yamaha YTS 62 tenor? I was thinking about purchasing the slant sig.

    • @Ryan-ok8lk
      @Ryan-ok8lk 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @eriovalerio
      @eriovalerio 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the slant sig 2 on tenor YTS 62 and for me sounds good, the lows sound nice, darker sound, good subtone as well, the highs are a little bit more bright but with a warmer sound, i think thats is a good point for play different styles. In general Is a good mouthpiece with a great projection and very versatile that let you play from traditional jazz to more modern music.

    Thoughts on the Theo wanne mantra sax? I want to upgrade saxes and I like its features and price point...

    • @randomizedreview2516
      @randomizedreview2516 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      kai mercado hey, I’ve been playing the mantra tenor for 4.5 years. It’s a really solid and sturdy sax with very accurate key action. The bottom end is SUPER thick and easy to play. The top and is easy to play but I feel like it plays a little flat compared to my keilwerth sx90r (I have both saxes right now). Tuning is a little different on the Theo Wanne. The neck it came with is a little gimmicky but the titanium neck has a lot better power and tuning. The lacquer last a very long time. Pads are roo pad extremes and are really good. Gold tone holes and just a beautiful sax. Very unique.

    ambika is suitable for classical use but this company demo artists always demonstrate jazz,pop,rock sax.

    • @ngtamphuong
      @ngtamphuong 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ong Teng Kee I don’t think it is because Theo stated that he created the Ambika base on the NY Otto Link which is definitely a mouthpiece for jazz. Check out their recent Water mouthpiece of the Elements mouthpiece range, which is aimed for classical music.

    • @abhimalavalli
      @abhimalavalli 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shiva is pronounced as Shiva not Sheeva, I don't blame anyone for incorrect pronunciation. Shiva is an Indian god(well depends if he is considered a god or a guru) and also a native one to my family, its amazing Theo has been to India and studied meditation and believes sound to be spiritual journey. All Theo Wanne's mpc are named after Indian gods. Wish my dad played sax so I could have bought him Datta (his name) 😅 I bought Shiva partly because the name resonates with my own background and my family history 😄 it's an amazing mouthpiece though I'm using ear plugs to protect my hearing.

      @@Cthepro321 you’re dumb. If I make a product called Spaghetti and call it tomato, that doesn’t mean I’m pronouncing it correctly. Idc if u made a product, if it has an established word, or name for its title, pronounce it right.
