I thought the lorry accident was about Vietnamese? It’s a tragedy😢

They were Vietnamese, I meant to say Vietnamese. I’ve pinned this comment to the top so people will be aware of my saying the wrong thing. Thanks for pointing it out ❤

    Loving the outfit!
We've pretty much read opposite books in the women's prize so far! I gave the marriage portrait 5*. Trespasses I've only read the first chapter, but I instantly really gelled with it.

Think I only read Agatha Christie by Lucy Worsley. Had two DNFs - one a book by Dolly Parton and James Patterson (which turned out to be just bunckum rather than the good bunckum I was hoping for) and Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson (kept switching between narratives, which I can never get on with)

Cool list, Lauren! Thanks for sharing this material :). It always comes in handy.
It would be interesting if you’d reviewed When Dying Is Not a Problem. I finished it recently and have mixed feelings about the plot. I’d like to know your opinion.

Lauren, you are off to a great start for the Women’s Prize. I will be reading The Marriage Portrait in April as a buddy read. I really enjoyed Trespasses and I hope Louise Kennedy is working on another novel. I am very interested in reading Wandering Souls. I like to read novels set during the Vietnam War or post war. I am currently contemplating buying Dust Child by Nguyen Phan Que Mai. I think you might be interested in it as well. I look forward to your cosy reading night tomorrow.

My favourite this month was Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier. Been on my TBR for ages. Should have read it ages ago, Cracking storyx

I read ‘Trespasses’ this month too and really liked it, can’t wait to see what the author does next. I also read ‘The memory keeper of Kyiv’ by Erin Litteken and ‘The Ghost Woods’ by C.J.Cooke this month, they were both really good. The one about Ukraine was just heartbreaking and I learned a lot about their history. I’m just about to finish ‘Other Women’ by Emma Flint which I’ve also really enjoyed. Thanks for the video, you look lovely in that pink x

I’ve just finished Memphis, The Marriage Portrait and Cursed Bread in the last week or so! I have so much I wish we could discuss! I loved Memphis & it made me realise I’ve read some brilliant books lately with amazing women in a family across the generations, it seems I’ve hit a really good run of this!
Cursed Bread I have *many* things to say haha!
Can’t wait for Cosy Reading Night, still need to choose my reads for the night 😊

I’m glad to have your feedback on these books. I’m reading some of them too on the long list. I really do love your hairstyle and color! It’s inspiring me to do something interesting with my hair!

So glad you enjoyed The Marriage Portrait, it was in my Top 10 last year. I just love Maggie O'Farrells historical almost retellings of people in history, they're so good! Also the Water Cure is great! For some reason Sophie Mackintosh is rated really low on Goodreads but she's a wonderful writer

I’m feeling the same about A Million to One. Such a disappointment, I loved her first two books 😢

The Colony was my first DNF of 2023, so many good books on my tbr and I just didn’t love it. Just got Wandering Souls and Trespasses from the library and am excited to read them :)

Gutted I didn’t get round to reading any of the Freya Marske’s this month, they may well sneak onto my TBR next month!
