  • You don't have to do huge acts of mercy in order to be Christ-like. Look around you. There are people everywhere who need the kind of mercy that you can show to them.

But they don’t want to do it. They literally do not care about anything but themselves. Their bodies are responding to a singular interest in life extension and nothing else. Not love, not kindness, not even decency.

This is a horrible representation of what schools are really like. No one would honestly help them. This video is so off putting.

I think that this is what Jesus would’ve been like had he been in the time of our public schools

Great message! However, it is extremely confusing to say "Christ has no body now but yours." That completely contradicts Christ's Real Presence in the Eucharist. Forgive the nitpicking but I do not want to send mixed messages to our teens, especially about the source and summit of the faith. Maybe we can play it muted and have a core team member rework the voiceover in person, with music playing in the background. Hopefully a helpful idea for others!
Life Teen is a great resource in general and I know the staff works really hard to help us instruct and evangelize.

Hey Lauren! Thank you for watching and for your note. Completely understood. We certainly don't mean to confuse viewers. However, this artistic piece, not meant to serve primarily as a catechetical teaching, is meant to invite the viewer into a reflection on what it means to be part of the mystical Body of Christ.
The narration comes from a poem attributed to St. Teresa of Avila and is meant to challenge a Christian to consider his or her part in the mystical Body of Christ, but in no way is meant to disregard His sacramental Body in the Eucharist. Perhaps starting off a Life Night with this video would lend itself well to a teaching on the Body of Christ, which we all enter into in receiving the Eucharist. In any case, know of our prayers for you and your teens and thank you for all you do to lead teens closer to Christ!
