I’d love to see some clips of high elo players making the correct decisions spliced in right after the low elo mistakes. It would be a great comparison way to show what difference these small decisions make. I’d also love at some point to see a video on “how to autofill” for each role. Keep making these amazing guides!
d o d g e A friend of mine just keeps one dodge for every day. So he ranks and if he doesn't get his role he dodges, he wins 10 LP at a win and loses only 3 LP for dodging (2nd time 10LP, that's why he only dodges once a day). At lower elos you might be able to play other roles but the higher you get the more impossible it is because people are really good at their main role.
Generally yeah, autofilling and playing well in all roles is pretty hard. Some people like Dopa can do well in all roles, but that's insanely hard. It's better to just main one role, and have another that you can play well as your secondary role
I only ask because I tend to dodge at least 2x per day, every day I play league. On the third game that should be dodged, I usually get autofilled to a role I actually never play. I'd like to not necessarily win lane, but minimize my deaths and stay relevant and useful.
If you stick to the dodge thingy you should not start the queue after the first/second dodge. It can take a while then if you are unlucky but a friend of mine who is close to his master promo swears if you come fresh from low dia it's probably your best option to one trick and dogde if you want to climb fast because if you are not insanely talented you can't play every role at this level and he actually says, at least on EUW, the higher you get, the more tilted people can be. Double jungle, afk and insane flame every game. This is why he thinks he HAS to play top, otherwhise the chances of winning are just to low.
Kevin yeah, everytime he says "so jhin has farming advantage" I was like "wtf he can't last hit 90% of the minions and the other 10% just die from the laughing, how can he get minion advantage???"
Huge shout out to our editing team for popping off on this video, these guys ALWAYS crush it. Thank you so much for watching guys. Wanted to check in - how do we feel about this reviews of various elos? Maybe we should start doing some buzzfeed style stuff where we look at a strategy in three drastically different elo points? Really open to ideas from you guys, there's always such creative and awesome stuff going on in the comment sections.

have to disagree in 1 point. U Say never use your Q as Jhin in this Matchup. You can use your Q, when you can get the advantage with the Lasthit Q(extra dmg each jump) and hitting the enemy Champion. It requires a lot of Skill and a bit Luck but it will destroy the enemy by the extra amount of dmg.
I really like how your videos analyze the correct strategies (or the mistakes) and really show how it can affect your game in the long run. A lot of videos just tell you that a certain play is right or wrong, but don't go enough in depth about what consequences or advantages could result from the play. Super well done, keep it up!
These guides are great! They really concretize the thoughts I get during my gameplay and answer my questions, such as "What should be my missions?". Thanks to these guides, I went from Silver III to Gold II within a month!
Hi Skill Capped, another amazing video. I love how much detail you put into these. Could you make a video or guide me to one which explains how to recognise lane missions? I would greatly appreciate that. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!
saw this in my feed, immediately got excited. The more I've been watching these, the more I've been worried about not understanding how to properly gauge what I should be doing in certain matchups. Playing a lot of ezreal and wanting to put more time into jhin, this is a lovely reference.
I think the riskiest play with an agressive support is standing near enemy tower to deny them a few melee crew exp though you’ll need to give up the gold.
Top tier video. It's well above my level to fully incorporate but I still feel like I learned so much, both as a support main and as someone who's trying to level up as an ADC.
Love the video, even though i cant adc for my life xD I'd really like to see a laning video for supports (support main over here). I understand the usual things like wave management and trading and pressure, but i learned these things through mid/adc videos. It'd be nice to have more support-specific references :D
Love all your content and videos. Just an FYI, @7:38 the onscreen graphics read 'The third minion on the third wave...' however it should be 'The third minion on the SECOND wave...'
4:10 what Jhin, Brand, and Xayah are doing here happens SO much at low elo. It's one of the most annoying things to experience as an ADC, if someone walks up to 1v2 trade and your support doesn't position so you can both punish.
These videos are really good and in-depth, however, the problem with most ADC players, in general, is they feel that they have to always get 7 kills in lane, therefore, they make stupid mistakes and always look for all ins vs champs like a brand, Braum and Blitzcrank and as helpful as these videos are if the other player doesn't know how to trade and manipulate waves it's pretty useless as you will lose a trade. Only helpful in higher Elo where people understand the game and have knowledge of laning phase.
In case I missed it, or you guys haven't released one, could you please cover a botlane game on how to possibly punish / survive against a Caitlyn with a ranged support? I find that lane to always be the most obnoxious to play against, if you've already posted something like this, or would like to in the future, let me know! Great content!
What could the Janna have done to help her Jhin? As a support I often don't know what to do in this situation. Should I explain the basics of wave management over chat, give little advice, try my best to follow their lower elo strategy (even if same or more skilled as me), or something else (hopefully so). Thanks for the help!
Roam, get vision, ping when you see the opponents on wards. Hope he doesn't feed and just try to get out of lane until team fights. If your jungler gets ahead, go invade with him and try to get picks. Be proactive and shot call if people aren't raging. Not that it wins games all the time, but at least you can try to keep people's morale up too.
I think explaining stuff usually isn't worth it unless you're playing with a premade adc. It takes too much time typing it out and distracts from actually focusing on the current game. Additionally the adc may not agree and start arguing, or they might get tilted by getting told they are doing things wrong. However, you can do some generic shot calling where you avoid sounding negative like "they are ahead, lets play safe and wait for our jungler to help", "going to help mid lane, careful", "lets do dragon" and that kind of stuff.
it's kinda tilting to watch that jhin but most of the time, when you try to give advice or explain some shits to yer adc they won't listen or even take it in a negative way. If that's the case then try to roam a bit. it's pretty hard to call shots as a support when your adc is not good or did not want to listen.
there is also something that is even more important in this match up. jhin has a shielding support making his trades healthier. he also is running fleet though xayah is running lethal tempo making her laning phase unhealthy and dangerous to last hit or trade. having a support that offers utillity for lane sustain is extremly important to get to a solid mid game, this is why most adcs run dorans blade and fleet foot work. taking lethal tempo is much stronger for mid to late but can easily be consistantly punished forcing you to get your power spikes much later. just the keystones a lone jhin should win the lane
Radstark yep. kaisa is starting to as well. ez can for mana. even kog can. any champs with ap ratios that are a main skill can. cant on jinx due to losing lane presure only having e dmg ratios
Another great video as always now It gives me more insight into the adc role once I shift from being a Jungler...with that said, can you make a video analyzing how RNG's Uzi played during MSI 2018? or just in general and what makes him the best marksman in the world®? it would be nice to see what runs in his mind will making those plays and how he chooses to trade...
Exactly what I needed. Been playing Jhin bot and been struggling hard with him. Not sure if it’s just his slow movement, attack speed, positioning or combination of but I like his heavy hitting potential but I get bullied a lot in lane especially when my support plays passive and jungle/mid dont rotate down.
I'm a low elo (Gold III) support main and half of the things said in this video I kinda knew but just didn't realize it yet, when I autofill ADC I always pick Jhin and so far the only thing that was clear in my mind was 4th shot for short trades and mana management (aka don't waste your cooldowns). I feel like I could farm more confident now and I'm sure aware that you should waste your abilities that way (I almost had a heart attack) so thanks \o/
i'm just 2 weeks into this game and CSing is hard. i kept on missing it. and this video just answered my question, when to actually push and when not to. i got really confused from that.
The words on the side at 4:28 can be difficult to read, due to the size and dull white color used, I would recommend making the white a bit brighter so it is easier to see on the screen
Could we get an explanation for Caitlyn? She seems to break a lot of wave management rules as she wants to shove you in. Should you shove all the time on her, depending on the matchup ofc?
Thanks to ur videos, i m now playing as adc, promoted to plat2! I was silver4, within 3 months got that good id say, on euw server (since s3 stucked silver)
Atrid I meant what to think about when making a gameplan like how can I use the factors of a matchup in formulating the gameplan like maybe I have more poke and waveclear than the enemy but the enemy has more all in potential than me so how would I incorporate that into my gameplan.
As someone who got from bronze 2 to plat 3 in 1 month, I can say that most of adcs doesn't know when to use their spells like ash third spell l kalistas ward also they never get control wards or the blue trinket, also they don't dodge that's why brand had a high win rate in this elo. And the most annoying mistake adcs never get quicksilver or excetioner to fight healers or spirit visage tanks rushers.
as a jhin main, you should you fourth hit for poke and use q for clearing minions only when u poke with 4th shot. thats how you can farm with causing harm to the enemy.
As a support main, this is how 99% of all ADC's I've been paired with do their laning phase. They have no idea how to lane by trades or wave management. They get caught out constantly and blame me when I can't cover all their mistakes in an instant. An ADC's job is to make good trades, get CS in lane, WARD!!!!, and wave management. A supports job is warding, pressure, trading, covering mistakes, setting up good trades, and if needed help with wave management (usually to crash faster if needing to base).
Just curious, would you look to use q on the wave in order to harrass the xayah or brand if they get out of position? Or would you only look to q auto the xayah or brand and continue with mission 2 of not pushing the wave?
Or what you can do to harass enemies trying to cs is to use your q on a group of 3 minions (the closest one) and the fourth bounce of your q will hit the adc or support. Of course, sometimes it wont work but with proper execution it gets the trade done. Remember the 4th bounce hits more than the first 3!
~ 5:40 *wave comes, thinking lets get ready to rush level 2 and jump these fools* "... we don't want to be hitting the wave..." *record scratching rewindy noises* wait what? I got that wasting abilities before you want to go hit the enemy is bad, but not autoing the wave as it arrives, and vs a lane with the ability to shove you in actually blew my mind a bit, and has me reconsidering how I think about levels. We've all heard "rush level 2"; but really, you don't need to rush it, just beat your opponent to it. Edit: more support content plz
A Karas Hitting the wave then would be bad. It would be better to stockpile some more minions and then hard shove. Xayah and Brand may have waveclear, but this is gold, they'll be getting most of it at best. (if it crashes to tower)
There's one thing I don't understand which I hope you can answer for me. One of the missions is that jhin shouldnt push the wave but he does need to get a minion lead. Doesnt the wave automatically push with a minion lead?
@Skill Capped Challenger LoL Guides How can I tell what my "missions" are in any lane combination? Is there a list anywhere, 'cause that's an efficient way of looking at laning.
got a question: in the beginning u said that jhin should get 2 autos off on the first wave to pressure xahya. why does he need minnion pressure? cause xahya can just give up lvl 2 since jhin pushed already no?
Funny fact, if jhin hits one time on the caster minions they won't stop attacking the blue minions at low health, and the leashing bot loses 1 or 2 minions when they arrive.
how can you tell if your champion is for wave clearing or short trades? Is there a chart for what every adc falls under? I started playing caitlyn and I can't figure out how to really be oppressive with her yet or like idk play her to her strengths lol
the problem with this is this janna knew how to zone and wave control, countless times i have been caught because i have assumed this of a support playing off role and not understanding this tldr janna plays very well but adjust plays to suit your support once you get a feel of their ability
Can you make a guide on adc'd that are super weak early like Kaisa. I'm switching secondary roles to bot and want to do really good. I'd really appreciate.
So if I’m Jhin laning against Draven should I still use Q to help waveclear between reloads? He’s constantly pushing so it’s hard to keep the wave out of tower and keep cs up.
8:23 I love how in high elo "inting pretty hard" is defined by breaking a freeze when you shouldn't
He randomly wasted his abilities in the wave and still missed all cs
Randomly firing abilities into the wave actually makes it easier to miss cs, so that's not surprising.
I’d love to see some clips of high elo players making the correct decisions spliced in right after the low elo mistakes. Very nice video. I had no idea that there was this much to know.
Amazingly well done video tutorial!
Could we get an explanation for Caitlyn? She seems to break a lot of wave management rules as she wants to shove you in. Should you shove all the time on her, depending on the matchup ofc?
freeze, harrass while opponent tries to last hit, try to get a kill. freezing and denying cs while harrassing is the best option imho.
I usually e-auto attack them when they try to get close and I freeze my lane right in front of tower but not in its range
Hmmm, why are there Vayne and Brand instead of Xayah and Rakan at 0:35?
Thanks to ur videos, i m now playing as adc, promoted to plat2! I was silver4, within 3 months got that good id say, on euw server (since s3 stucked silver)

You think?
Most helpful video for me yet!
Error at 7:39 Should say "Third melee on the second wave gets you level 2", but instead it says "Third melee on the third wave gets you level 2"
Just curious, would you look to use q on the wave in order to harrass the xayah or brand if they get out of position? Or would you only look to q auto the xayah or brand and continue with mission 2 of not pushing the wave?
Could you guys make a support series aswell?
Where can I find more Support focused guides on your channel?
But how do you set your lane goals? Can you give tips on how to identify them?
I literally opened up TH-cam to try and find a video that would help me play lane phase better as adc and this was the FIRST video on my TH-cam
search Saber
Or what you can do to harass enemies trying to cs is to use your q on a group of 3 minions (the closest one) and the fourth bounce of your q will hit the adc or support. Of course, sometimes it wont work but with proper execution it gets the trade done. Remember the 4th bounce hits more than the first 3!
~ 5:40 *wave comes, thinking lets get ready to rush level 2 and jump these fools* "... we don't want to be hitting the wave..."
*record scratching rewindy noises* wait what?
Best guids, keep up the good work!
I need to watch this man's videos more... literslly only position i cant play is ADC and it looks like this will also help me in lane in general
There's one thing I don't understand which I hope you can answer for me. One of the missions is that jhin shouldnt push the wave but he does need to get a minion lead. Doesnt the wave automatically push with a minion lead?
As a new player these videos are a big help
Please upload some support guides/povs, these videos are amazing but there are basically no videos directly for support mains
@Skill Capped Challenger LoL Guides How can I tell what my "missions" are in any lane combination? Is there a list anywhere, 'cause that's an efficient way of looking at laning.
got a question: in the beginning u said that jhin should get 2 autos off on the first wave to pressure xahya. why does he need minnion pressure? cause xahya can just give up lvl 2 since jhin pushed already no?
no streams on twitch?
Funny fact, if jhin hits one time on the caster minions they won't stop attacking the blue minions at low health, and the leashing bot loses 1 or 2 minions when they arrive.
how can you tell if your champion is for wave clearing or short trades? Is there a chart for what every adc falls under? I started playing caitlyn and I can't figure out how to really be oppressive with her yet or like idk play her to her strengths lol
thanks I didn't know the bush thing :), now I'm playing Lucian and I know he's good for short term trading and harass early on
Hey, Skillcapped.
I'd like to know tips against tilt and how to prevent it, since it has dragged me from p2 to p5.
the problem with this is this janna knew how to zone and wave control, countless times i have been caught because i have assumed this of a support playing off role and not understanding this tldr janna plays very well but adjust plays to suit your support once you get a feel of their ability
can you make a video for Mid- or Lategame playstyles?
These videos are really useful thx
cheese12341 why are you copying my pic
7:40 you wrote third wave lol ;p, great vid btw
what music do you use? it's inspirational
4.4k views and 444likes PERFECTION
40 like on the comment goddamit
So what’s the strategy for xayah here? If she has a waveclear advantage how can she best abuse that to counter the Jhin?
Do you have a video that helps you learn and determine match ups?
I have absolutely no idea what you’re saying, but I totally agree. Good vid.
Can you make a guide on adc'd that are super weak early like Kaisa. I'm switching secondary roles to bot and want to do really good. I'd really appreciate.
What's the audio that starts at 8:00?
So if I’m Jhin laning against Draven should I still use Q to help waveclear between reloads? He’s constantly pushing so it’s hard to keep the wave out of tower and keep cs up.
Can you please do some contrast next vid? So we can know what we should or should not do more clearly.
ahahhaha thumbnail really got me there coz my summoner name is badKHABITS
