Jesus people here in the comments react as if they’re Gibson representatives themselves. People are so butthurt nowadays… thanks for the review!
Thank you! They would have a point if I was trying to put an affiliate link here but I don't encourage people to buy them at all.
plus as a person who owns an original Gibson and had a chance to try a fake chinese one, I was actually pretty impressed with the binding quality of the Chinese one. One 2016 Les Paul traditional I sent back because the binding was coming off where the neck and the body meet (Shitty CQ from Gibson, who mainly lives from the past and its wast IP.)
Cool guitars, all of them. Thanks for the riffs
Glad you like them!
I own 2 Gibson Standards and recently bough a new Chibson just to see what the fuss was about. It was $209 with $50 shipping from China and took 2 weeks to get to the US. The finish (Silverburst) was flawless as was the binding and fret nibs, the tuners and imitation ABR bridge are adequate. The knob placement was also correct. The Korean made pickups were surprisingly good even though the electronics are pretty poor. The biggest negative was the condition of the frets, like sandpaper with a few high spots that made terrible buzzing. After a setup, fret leveling and polish it played extremely well. I put it on par with the "inspired by Gibson" Epiphones that go for $800-1,000. These will never be a Gibson Standard let alone a Custom but are an incredibly value for $200-300 and great for bringing to a sketchy club where you have to worry about damage or theft of a $3,000 guitar. Anyone with even a small ampunt of guitar knowledge will not be fooled by these so I doubt these could be sold as actual Gibsons and you can request a different headstock and logo if it bothers you that much.
Thanks for your comment, this is exactly how I feel about them, although I've not yet played the new epiphones.
Great review. Having owned many Gibsons, epiphones, burnys, and grecos, im currently looking to add a chibson or 5 . Great set of bones for modding. Appreciated seeing your experience.
Thank you and I totally agree, it's a modding platform. I wouldn't do this to my FGN/Edwards/Gibson/ESPs but I'm okay with this chibson modding.
Great review as always, thanks for the comparison, keep it up!
Thank you and I will try to keep it going ;)
they all sounds great
Thanks! I'd say they all have differences but I can't define what is better or worse.
Gibson and the second Edward’s by far sounded the best
best pickups in the game!
As a lefty who has to constantly miss out on models and colour combos; viva la Chibson. Fuck Gibson.
I think the gibson sounded the best and if you work your way backwards that is how i would have ranked them. You should swap the pickups in the chibby and do it again. I also think the Edwards sounded really good also.
Thanks! I'll try to do the same thing with the new pickups and pots
@@ayeapprove That would be awesome what pickups are you gonna use?
@@randypittman4994 thinking about a blind test video of a few pickups I have
@@ayeapprove That would be cool also. Have you ever tried guitar madness pickups? I have used the overwound alnico 2's and like those a lot.
@@randypittman4994 They look like generic rebranded chinese stuff - which is also what I have laying around but I'm also going to use a DiMarzio to test
Looks like you got a great deal!
Well I had some coupons from playing stupid games on Aliexpress and it came down to a price that was even more interesting to me including taxes.
@@ayeapprove Where are you located? I was thinking of ordering a 68 Custom from Ebay. Wondering about shipping to Canada
@@50Something Europe - I have no expierence with ebay but they are most likely the same sellers just on a different platform. Shipping was free, had to pay import taxes. For legal reasons I would advise against getting one.
They was sounding good everyone and the Chinese Slash model looks and sounds as great as those others
It might even look better once I do the dull finish mod, so the top will have a bit more depth and feel less like a toy.
Second Edward’s & Gibson for me
Those Seymour Duncans sound fantastic yeah!
@@ayeapprove I have question What kind of Duncans
@@marekwegorz8966 Seymour Duncan Antiquity
@@ayeapprove Thank You very much
Chibsons are the Best!👏 Why get yourself scammed by overpriced $5,000 wood when you can buy a $250 one🤭, just upgrade the hardware and you have a 98% look alike replica of the Gibson Les Paul without busting the bank. 💯👌
edwards is nice!
they were rumoured to have been made in the same line as Navigators, which would explain the nice details :D
Edwards guitar was cut in China and aseembled in Japan. It's not really from the sam line as Navi but the QC and design is Japanese style, I think the wood is the biggest different.
@@Toni-nf6ht Not this early 90s one ;)
@@ayeapprove exactly, before 2009.
@@Toni-nf6ht these were prototypes and fully made in Japan. There aren't many of these but I've seen around 3 others
You say you aren't promoting these knockoffs, but you are!
Which part of the video is promoting them? Showing the specs, giving my personal opinion or is it the comparison?
The only promotion that happens in this case is in your own head.
@@ayeapprove Buying the guitar and then uploading a video on youtube IS the endorsement. You don't have to specifically tell everyone to go buy one, your actions are enough. You even put the venders name in the video title.
@@marcelchannon6007 I disagree that this content is some kind of endorsement and no, aliexpress wasn't the vendor, it's a platform where Chinese sellers offer their stuff - same as on ebay. Would the title have been any better with ebay?
💥🙄💯🤣@@NEONNOONE
Why are you encouraging trademark violations by purchasing a counterfeit Chinese Gibson Les Paul?
he' not just encouraging it, he's largely marketing for it. These illegally branded knockoffs don't have any form of legal advertising aside from getting YTubers to promote their garbage
How do I encourage it? I kept the logo covered the whole way through and I intentionally didn't put a link to the product anywhere
@@rodnyg7952marketing? How so? This isn't a paid channel (I will never activate ads and I definitely don't get any products/discounts from anyone)
@@ayeapprove you don't need a contract agreement to market a product or idea online. It's free social media marketing. If you don't want to get paid for it, that's your decision. Knockoff sellers & distributors actually prefer you promote their things for free. Aside from paid or free social media marketing, how else do you think they would market illegally branded counterfeit guitars?
@@ayeapprove - Regardless of your covering the logo, you're nevertheless promoting trademark infringement while being in possession of counterfeit goods.
