On a road trip in '95 somewhere in Alberta we came cross a colony. So we hung a left and drove into it. At first there were tons of people meandering about. As we got closer they simply disappeared. We drove into the heart and there were little children in windows happily waving at us but not an adult in sight.
Two boys about ten years old greeted us. We asked if we could by some produce.
The boys were little chatter boxes. I told them I was a cook and they lead me into a state of the art kitchen. They both proudly said their ma's were cooks. It was a profound moment for me. These folks are a national treasure.
We did get to buy two of the nicest tomatoes I've ever tasted.

Who are we to criticise the way these people live. They seem happy, content and love each other. Not a bad way to live in my opinion when one looks at the society many of us live in.

Firstly I would like to say that I have been made free by the blood of Jesus Christ the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world he saved me when by faith I believed the gospel which is the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ he gave me the indwelling of his holy spirit and I am a child of God eternally these teachings were not forced upon me but it took years for me to and I am forever grateful that I have
In regard to men and women God has given us different roles if you love God and His word then this would bring joy to you but if you are a rebel it will make you angry and contentious about the matter
In regard to the women's head cup rings this is biblical and the fact that they are all wearing polka dots simply tells me that they have chosen to wear polka dot head coverings they make their own clothing and they choose their own fabrics not by force they actually get a choice
Of course there are controlling people in this world but if someone is trying to teach you the word of God and someone is trying to lead you toward God and not away from God then by all means control me with the word of God it is a wonderful thing and the most freeing thing to be controlled by the word of God something that an unsaved person or rebellious spirit can't possibly understand the mind in the heart when they are not submitted to God is in prison to one's self but when you surrender your mind and your heart to God and the things of God you're more free than you will ever be or everything to be I pray that you are saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and if not please consider today that you are flesh and one day soon you will die if you are not saved by grace through faith and the death burial and resurrection of Jesus you will spend eternity in hell to pay for your sins not because God wants you to but because you chose that by rejecting the gift of eternal life which can only be received by faith in Jesus

It is funny to me that the people of the world that mock the woman wearing a headcovering that mock the woman being controlled by a man (husband) or by the word of God are the same people covering their faces with senseless face masks and taking vaccinations that are going to make them sick instead of well that is not to say that you are one of those people but nonetheless I find it odd people are willing to cover their face for a man but not to cover their head for God

I used to be really curious about hutterites because I moved to SD and saw some for the first time. I’d never heard of them before. Now, having lived there for 4 years for college and having worked at a farm store where I interacted with them regularly I can say, at least of those that I met, I never had a positive interaction with a Hutterite man or woman. Women especially. Every single one I met was either incredibly rude or impatient or just cold to me. It may have just been the colony that I was around and I don’t want to judge all of them from my experiences but I’m just saying, I met dozens and dozens over those 4 years and every interaction left me feeling worse than when I entered it. It looks like they have very interesting customs and a simple way of life, they appear to be perfectly happy and friendly to each other but for some reason that just didn’t translate to me and others I’ve spoken to at least.

So there are many genetic defects in those communities because no records are kept and they have as many children as possible. It's an unavoidable fact. After sending scouts to North America in 1873 along with a Mennonite delegation, almost all Hutterites, totaling 1,265 individuals, migrated to the United States between 1874 and 1879 in response to the new Russian military service law. Of these, some 800 identified as Eigentümler (literally, 'owners') and acquired individual farms according to the Homestead Act of 1862, whereas some 400 identified as Gemeinschaftler (literally, 'community people') and started three communities with community of goods.
Most Hutterites are descended from these latter 400. Named for the leader of each group (the Schmiedeleut, Dariusleut and Lehrerleut, leut being based on the German word for people), they settled initially in the Dakota Territory. Here, each group reestablished the traditional Hutterite communal lifestyle.

+K Kawaii I grew up near a Hutterite colony in Montana. Sweet Grass Colony maybe... last I was there was around 1998 or so. They used trucks and harvesting equipment. They had an automatic door on the main colony building. They had one television, that they would all watch together, but only for the news and weather report. The women showed us a rather high tech commercial bread oven, to bake all the bread they needed. So in some sense they advance, but they only accept things that make their work better. They make some knock your socks off Hutterite wine, and some high quality wool slippers. There are politics around their children's schooling, and their land usage, but they remain as they were, as far as I know.

I've been on several channels in the last few days actually that I had originally thought were about Halloween. Not the anti-Haloween video I ended up with. I'm just using it as an example, I have noticed that a lot of people seem to be living this life in preparation for the next and only the next. I absolutely believe that while you're here that you should work on yourself so that you can return the soul God gave you back to him in better condition than it was received, but some people seem to be taking this so far it seems to me they're completely missing the point. It's like they're almost drugged or hypnotized, ignoring the beauty of the here and now, just waiting to die. And then once that happens and they're dead what then? I mean why were we even put here if we're not supposed to have any experience other than the worship and working for God and death? And please don't get me wrong, I'M NOT SAYING THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE WAY THESE PEOPLE IN THE VIDEO LIVE THEIR LIVES. I wouldn't want someone teling telling me how to live or that the way I live is wrong. I guess I just have questions and for a nice surprise the comments section a actually sems like a place one might ask these questions and get answers, have a conversation, etc., without a bunch of people just swearing at you and just being plain jerks. I apologize, I get on a roll sometimes.

People don't try to make relationships work anymore, instead they run to get divorces as if their changing their socks, its sad. The Hutterites are truely beautiful people, great work ethic and encourages community relationships by how each colony is managed. I wish a colony was closer to me, I'd love to visit one and work with them for a week or two just for the experience alone. And listening to them sing just melts my heart in a thousand ways...

My ex-wife is an ex-hutterite from a colony in southern Manitoba. I was married to her and close to her family for 16 years. Severe human rights abuses take place on these colonies everyday in Canada. The people dont know their rights are being violated as they grow up being brainwashed from birth. This is what I learned from 16 years of marriage to an ex-hutterite: the members are regularly shunned/ex-communicated over trivial religous opinions, not allowed to leave the farm for shopping unless permission is given by the minister, rapes are forgiven in church...victim and man stand before the members in church and no punishment for the rapists, humiliation, they are denied education beyond grade 6.
