I found this band when my marriage (unknown to me) was falling apart. Now that she’s gotten me out of our home and I’m more alone and lost than I’ve ever been, they help me feel less alone and soothe my broken heart.

Glad to see my reddit post was able to get you guys some views on this, you deserve it!
As an expression of art and of your feelings I feel like this song is really really great, that it encapsulates perfectly how people with depression and anxiety might feel. I see a lot of this song in the people I care about and that breaks my heart.
I just wonder, is it ethical to share such a song considering it's messaging. As much as people can connect to this, to this I will say beautiful work, is the messaging "Everything good eventually hurts" really something we want people suffering from depression to depart with? That might reflect your expereinces and the expereinces of many many people. But such an expression of hopelessness is what I think, the last thing someone who's suffering like this needs to hear. I don't know. I don't want to turn the song into something fasely happy or disingenuous. But I can't imagine ever actually showing my loved ones this song - people who would connect to it more than anyone. I think it woul encourage them to give up on everything and everyone even more, and that is not what I want to see at all.
What does anyone else think? I might be approaching this completely wrong, and I'm happy to be pointed out as wrong if someone disagrees with me. I'd be happy to discuss it.
Honestly as someone who connects uncomfortably well with this song, I think that line is more supposed to be taken in a "yeah I know what you're feeling" sort of way, not in a way that it's supposed to be taken as advice. Sometimes it's enough to just know that someone else "gets it" and knows the mindset where the lie of putting up a false front still feels better than admitting that you're not doing okay
Thank you for sharing. I guess for me its hard not to interpret as messaging rather than simply that it's just vocalising relatable thoughts - because of my position in not relating quite as much. I definitely see where you're coming from though.
