    What accommodation tips have you got to share?

    even though it must be a nice experience sharing meals it would not be the same nice experience all together sleeping ...if you cannot sleep as you said in fact!!! I just plan knowing I will have today lot more for a good n night sleep , I am in my 60 so I need it for the next day route.

      Some people cope well with communal sleeping, some enjoy the experience, some have to due to budget….

      I stayed in about 20 Albergues last year, to try it. It was fine. Some were great!

    Hi Rob / Jenny walking solo can one do all you own booking without using an Angency?? thank you

    • @robscamino
      @robscamino  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes of course. No need to use an agency. Most people don't! Many don't even book, but just see where they end up each day, and look for somewhere to stay. All part of the adventure. I would only suggest booking (perhaps a day or two ahead) in busy periods or in very popular 'choke points'. Like in Zubiri or Roncevalles.

    Hi Rob, thanks for all your great videos. I had a bit of trouble following this one. Do you mind putting the link or giving us the name of the accomodation that is similar to the Miradores? Much appreciated. Blessings.

      This one we didn't mention but it's amazing. Just a Hotel (no albergue) and not cheap. But worth it in my view. I'll add a video link. sanzoilo.com/

    Jenny said she walked a Camino in Italy. Where can I find out more about that Camino?

      It was probably the Via Francigena

    It would be nice to have the names of these accomodation types on the screen, especially as these are Spanish words. I didn't catch them unfortunately. I just got that there dorm/ hostel places - Asbergues? and hotels.

    Excelente entrevista Rob! Once I arrive in a town without reservation, how do you
    distinguish a casa rural ?

    • @robscamino
      @robscamino  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure there is much differentiation! Usually I only know they call themselves a Casa Rural, as they listed themselves online as such! I tend to think of them as being akin to a B&B. Bed and Breakfast. Often in a family home. I'll add some links below to some I have stayed in. Maybe that will help you to see how they look compared to other types of Accommodation.

    It’s not true that Donativos “don’t have to pay.” This comment is misleading. As a result your guest is unknowing (?) supporting the idea that you don’t have to pay ANYTHING. This impacts the possible meal offering for the next days pilgrim offerings. 😢

    • @robscamino
      @robscamino  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      100% agree Tonya. Jenny said "If you don't have any money, you don't have to pay anything" . This needs to be put in context.
      Donativo means 'donation'. You should make a donation if you have money. How much? It's often suggested that you 'donate' the amount you would normally pay at an Albergue. Sadly too many people think Donativo = Free! It doesn't. The donations have to pay for the upkeep and food where provided! There is a sad story about the Albergue at Granon. The Pilgrims of the previous day did not leave enough in donations to feed the Pilgrims of the next day...... Don't be those Pilgrims.
