    This gets interesting at the end because Judge Simpson realizes that the defendant understands English fairly well. I suspect defense counsel is using the "language barrier" as a tactic in this case. Judge Simpson doesn't explicitly call that out, but he's visibly miffed at counsel for wasting the translation resource.

    So many of these cases…they mess around without paying all year round…have hawc pick up the tab to get them back to a zero balance…rinse, repeat. How is that county not bankrupt?

      Yea i don't understand either some come in and are just like I'm not working nor paying what do u mean judge and act dumb I'm like how do these people live this way thy don't even care or care to work

    Love Judge Simpson he is always fair but some of these people don't want to work and expects the county to pay for them.!

    Why Americans feel the need to tell the public all about their health issues and how someone in the home has acute disabilities, is amazing. It's totally irrelevant, but they share the most personal information about themselves and worse their family members. I hope they got permission first. It's suppose to make the defendants excuses tug on the heart strings and judges hear these stories thousands of times every year and it must get monotonous. It impresses me most how judges know this but will treat each as an individual, not a collective.
    And no need for defendants aggression or dramatics, it's not Judge Judy.🤭
