If you read the manga, the other fighters are actually impressed at how Muteba is able to adapt to a one-on-one fight that the others are disturbed at how good he is in hand-to-hand combat
This is great but makes no biological sense. The poor mercenary should not be standing after such a great damage to the inner ear. Not to mention being blind
