I love my set. They're the best I've ever owned. I had to exchange a couple that were defective but I bought all the colors. The two defective were hard as rock for some reason. The replacements worked just like the rest of the pencils.

They are both excellent choices. They feel very similar to each other. I would choose the color palette that you like best. I will be doing a comparison video so you can see the palettes side by side. 😊

I don't have many Holbeins, but based on what I have, I would say Derwent Lightfast are better at keeping their point and are more precise, without being harder - it's like they were less fatty, less slippery, if that makes sense; but Holbeins beat them as far as pastel go, Derwent pastels are harder and waxier. So I would just build my palette using both. I am also not so convinced still about the lightfastness - maybe the method the Holbein is using is better than Bluewool, but the point of universal lightfastness tests is that external companies are doing them. Are the Holbein ones done externally or by the producers themselves? Plus, there's the price point - here in Poland I can have 3 Derwents for 2 Holbeins more or less, but I know it's not like that everywhere, Derwent has a very special price policy for middle and eastern Europe.
