Such an amazing video - zactly what I needed to start making my elemental builds in Sunbreak. I was playing raw sns for a long time but now it's time to use my blade more (instead of my shield) 😅. Thanks, man!
I mean dereliction overall is pretty broken with all things around it, but SnS is always right up the monsters butt and even with windmill you can die easily
Very good guide, I have done a lot of math on optimal SnS builds without dereliction and your skill choices and weapon choices are good. For water though, I'm pretty confident the Ludroth weapon, Royal Waterclaw+ is the better option. Its stats are pretty competitive with Agamemnon off the bat, but it doesn't need Master's Touch 3 and has 2 extra 1 slots which opens up the build quite a bit.
@@Dr_Philliam Good point, currently shogun is a bit behind Mizu in my calculations (in exchange for more build options/room for comfort), and both are noticeably behind waterclaw, but if we got a really strong offensive 4slot deco that would shake things up a lot. The bnahabra weapons would also suddenly look quite good lol
Ludroth is really good considering how easy it is to get. You literally don't need a single rare item. Agamemnon is obviously stronger, but the game asks for a crazy amount of rare materials. 1 Ruby and 1 Mantle from Rathalos and Rathian each, 1 Wyvern Gem, 1 Golden Almudron Orb and a Conqueror's Seal.
Took me a lot of time to craft together and wonder how I should approach it, but I'm glad it worked out! I'll likely keep that style for all future build videos. I don't wanna just lazily post a screenshot or recorded footage of my set. I wanna put in some effort
Love your videos and I’m watching this at like 3:00 at night so maybe it’s just me being tired and brain not functioning. But you sound like a calm Chris Hemsworth I swear. Have a nice day and keep SNS’ing 👍.
My elemental builds were definitely different compared to what you have, looks like it’s time for me to tweak them, thanks Phil! Also, I think there may be a typo on the ice build, it says you slotted two brace jewels in your daora sword but looks like there’s only space for one.
Nice video phil. I wanna ask your opinion about the infinite combo A > A > AX > A. I find from other speedrunners (barussu, japanese speedrunner, etc)that now its one of the strongest combo loop for both raw and elemental. Have you tried and compared the efficiency of this combo over reaper for raw and lateral twin for ele? I do think this also affect the weapon selection to favor long white (MT) and the weapon with sliver of purple builds kinda change( with PP).
If you end up getting a spinning reaper into the twin lateral at the end just at the (nearly) right time, it's slightly stronger. If not, the "japanese runner" combo is better, but also consumes a bit more sharpness and I personally feel like it's awkward to use. For optimal play, we'll likely see a mix of two where you start going into the twin lateral as soon as you know when to use the spinning reaper exactly because the other combo you mentioned can't go into SR. About PP, you migth be right since many hunts are rather short even if SnS is "weak" in terms of meta comparisons, but I absolutely detest PP.
Keep up the vids. I'm positive if the TH-cam thing doesn't work out you will absolutely get a job as voice-over actor. Please don't take that the wrong way. Great work.
Watching your speed runs made me a sns main after never giving it a chance. Now I can't go back. This weapon feels like the epitome of skill expression. Do you plan to drop builds for the new title updates too?
Thanks a lot for the guide just great! Could I ask the reasons you chose the Zinogre thunder sword over the Narwa one? On a first look glance Narwa seems better to my noob eyes.
Just found out about your chanel via angbata, because i main LBG. I like your explanations a lot. For people that want to dip into SnS. Which Weapon would you consider a good raw starting weapon to get the feel of SnS?
Wonder how much better we can improve these with the recent sneak peak on the armor augmentation thing for the coming update. Sure hope we can push the SnS harder, since our dinky oil was a sham.
I've watched the video again and than I looked on the dragon set and what did i see, there are 2 points crit eye over the maximum, so I swapt the Barrioth Arms with the astlos Arms and got chaincrit and crit element on lvl 3 :D
Thank you very much for the helpful builds! I wanted to ask your opinion on the destroyer oil. I've been using it regularly enough but keeping it up constantly can be annoying, and it's also the sort of thing where it's hard to notice if it's actually helping that much. Is it worth using or should I not bother?
@@danm8004 At the time I didn't realise that it was only a partbreaker bonus. I could have sworn that the trailer said that it helped with knockdowns or something like that. Hope they buff it or something, seems pretty weak
@@flashjamer6075 The partbreak bonus means that monsters are easier to flinch, but I still wouldn't bother with it. The strongest go-to silkbind for SnS is still Metsu, with shieldbash having some useful mobility applications and Windmill potentially being a good choice against monsters with bad metsu openings (such as Narwa, Ibushi and the final boss).
Deriliction are my go to skill but i'm just a scrub so i keep dying to lower tier anomaly monsters cus my health always low. So i use deriliction with Blood rite. Definitely sacrificing my damage but it get the job done.
What is the best dragon SnS pre-Valstrax? Not sure what MR he unlocks at, but given how it was HR 100 in base Rise I'm assuming it'll be a while until I get to his Sunbreak counterpart.
The thing is, SnS has a hard time using Dereliction as Shoryugeki also deals chip damage to you unless you geki roars, that even gates it sometimes in freestyle for heroics use, but overall I'd say over 95% of the people who'll watch this video won't be having a good time with dereliction and even those who could make perfect use of it might not enjoy using it. That's why I mentioned it for now so peeps know it's better but I still wouldn't recommend it for sns.
How do these builds stack up in Update 2? i just started getting into SNS, and i'm finding it difficult to figure things out. so I never know if i'm doing things terrible for optimization (like hitting weakspots for 70-100dmg instead of the high numbers i see on youtube), or if its just because I suck. Specifically on Silver los chest and elemental exploit. *(maybe i'm a bit more biased toward that skill coming from elemental CB and making things explode)
They're still gonna be hitting hard, though there are better options. Unfortunately I'm not too invested in Rise rn and I was very disappointed by TU2, so I unfortunately can't tell you if the three new monsters changed anything in terms of meta.
@@Dr_Philliam thanks for the feedback! Though, I was more curious about update 1 and the shakeup to element builds with silver los. Sticking with mostly raw despite the speed making element seem great has been working out some. But I struggle with fights where I can't reach weak spots, like volvidon and hermitaur. I think it's a player skill problem.
For the dragon build, can i replace valstrax weapon with gaisgmagorm weapon? It has highest attack but has lowest affinity (-25%) but can makeup that affinity with rampage deco like daora rampage deco that has up affinity until 15% when crit chain
You can, but I wouldn't suggest it. Gaismagorm is more of a raw weapon than a dragon one and should be used in raw focused builds. Valstrax will still be on top against dragon weak monsters. But if you're not MR 70 yet or don't want to grind Valstrax, which I can 100% understand, just go with Gais.
@@Dr_Philliam i totally forgot that these armors are gender specific. so i had it this whole time but the female equivalent to this is rhopessa? i forget the name, but i appreciate the reply!
That's kind of an issue with how much you can increase your crit chance in Rise. Since you can add +90% critical chance using Critical Eye and Weakness Exploit, weapons with high inherent crit chance but lower raw damage just cannot compete, because everything crits all the time anyways. That's why noone ever uses Shagaru weapons, because the Gore ones simply have higher raw damage and that's why Astalos also isn't really relevant.
I covered any charm possibility even down to what we considered budget in rise base already. And the charm was chosen based on a poll from my community tab.
This type of charm isn't too difficult to get. In fact, there's a good amount of leeway already considered, as you can get charms with even better stats without needing any mods. If your charm luck is really just terrible, a WEX 2 should still work well enough.
