    I am working on a follow up video regarding the spectrum clarity.

    • @simongordon8182
      @simongordon8182 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good, given how bad the v1 was we need to see it on a spectrum analyzer, as you know the b1 had low audio volume, on some frequencies v low power output on the low setting, and harmonic spikes when transmitting well above what fcc allow. I hope they’ve managed to fix those things, but put together with them using a spoof fcc I’d last time these are legitimate and important questions

    • @K5QBF
      @K5QBF  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@simongordon8182 Yea some of them can be really bad. The Abree you can hear the transmission loud and clear on the harmonics. I plan on running it through the TinySA as well as my poor mans test. This video was already 17min so I had to break it up.

      Radtel was the first to build BT into one of their radios. The RT 490, which also has GPS.
      The Japanese couldn't do worse than add BT programming, but they still haven't made a radio with USBc charging yet. Hopefully we might at least see Yaesu bring out new batteries for the FT-70 & FT4 with USB sockets.

    Thanks for the video! I like the look of the radio and it appears to have a lot of nice QoL features. Can't say I'm thrilled at having to register any details on an app to use it for programming (I'm sure the radio can be programmed on the face). Even with fake credential information the app is still installed on my phone or tablet and doing who knows what in the background. Fortunately it looks like CHIRP supports the radio so I might just pick one of these up. 73!

What I mean is, this is an attribute you assign to a channel, just like you would a frequency, offset, and tone. These radios were originally sold in pairs. Now all we need is for someone to test this frequency hopping between two TD-H8 radios with identical channel settings and freq hopping enabled. Have a third radio tuned to the same frequency. If it works, the two radios communicate while the third doesn't receive. Then this may be one of the greatest features of this radio. Somewhat private simplex with interference rejection!

      I’ve never had an issue with the device pairing to the app. I’d try deleting and reinstalling the app.

      @@nats50 glad I could help. I’ve found that method solves most issues.

    The million dollar q is whether or not they’ve solved the problem of high levels of spurious harmonics that the original with a fake fcc number had. Any the q is secondary. Buying selling using a radio that prodigy from interference would be very problematic.

      I used the radio at field day on both uhf and vhf and had no reports of interference. In testing other radios the worst I’ve seen in a spur was around 28dbm which is roughly .63 watts and with the loss in the antenna it wasn’t detectable on a radio more than a foot away from the source. According to the manual, which was part of the FCC approval process, it meets part 97 standards.

      They fixed this problem in the firmware. Also fixed issues with the mic and speaker in the newest firmware.
