To be honest I think that water not being able to be seen through a nether portal was quite a cool touch, maybe resembling how there is no water in the Nether
These video's are so nostalgic to me
I know almost every tiny detail of this game but I still love watching this for the nostalgia

Fun fact: The Nether Portal,and the Nether itself were added to Pocket Edition in the 0.12 Alpha update.
Prior to this,to get access to some Nether resources,there was a PE-Exclusive feature called the Nether Reactor Core.

In my one world, I have a wall of nether reactor cores and old stonecutters

I think that glitch could have been left as a detail because you know we can't summon water in the nether. If water is invisible when seen through a Nether portal but lava being completely visible in that case, it could be a reference to the Nether world where water doesn't exist...

Lol the water and ice glitch was actually understandable because the nether is a lava place and water couldn't spawn there

I started playing minecraft in 2019, very nostalgic times. It was so nice exploring 1.16. 1.17. 1.18 when they all came out, can’t wait for 1.19! sometime in mid 2020 I downloaded an apk of “good craft” and used to play that. It was like 1.9 so it was very nostalgic even though I didn’t play it before. But it would be nostalgic if I played it again. Then I decided to make my own 1.9 server. 😌:)
I miss this uploads haven't watched in a while a lot to catch up on!

actually, you can use the setblock command to place a portal block in the end, but in bedrock edition, you’re taken to a glitched version of the overworld and in the middle of the air
If Ghasts were able to be in the overworld, Minecraft would be the Amazon rainforest

I remember a glitch where, in creative, if you broke one of the obsidian just as you was about to teleport, it wouldn’t be there when you returned but the portal would still work, so we could make customisable portal frames

If I'm correct, if you activate a nether portal and it's too big, there's a chance that it could spawn a ghast to the overworld

I remember playing 1.8 because I remember the ender dragon would move away from me after I hit it. I had accidentally, while in creative mode, smacked the ender dragon with my bow instead of shooting it (I was on top of it) once. I then decided it was a good idea.

i started minecraft in 2018! but it was aquatic update on education edition so I was a bit behind... and still am today! right now it's still on 1.14, fingers crossed for an update!
the number 13 fact, is a render bug, since stuff like ice and water were opaque blocks, (transparent) and so was the nether portal minecrafts rendering engine at the time didn't blend between the transparent blocks, and thats why it doesn't work for lava cause the lava isn't transparent.
Watched minecraft videos for almost 2 years, then go minecraft this year.

The situation actually is something most people knew about without knowing about, most kids back in 2010-2012 probably remember playing minecraft in their school computer lab, One of the most popular ones was a full version of minecraft that you could actually play in the browser, This version was the version that Dylan published, After his shut down there were a few copycats throughout 2013 but most of them were short lived.
The Nether Portal sound honestly kinda makes me think of the PS1/PS2 startup sounds, and other similar era console sounds

i've played minecraft since 2011 (its actually 2010 because my older cousin played it for me) so i know some features but i didn't expect that theres more features there

I played Minecraft before the nether was even a thing... There used to be something called a nether reactor core which would spawn in a structure made of netherack and spawn waves of zombie-pigmen
Hoglins are scared of the nether portal because when they are in the overworld they turn into zoglins
I think the reason you could not see water through the portal is because you can't have water as soon as you go through it same with ice because ice is a solid form of water but it makes no sense that you can have it in the nether
Unpopular opinion: the better portals mod should be an actual feature (it’s a mod that shows the other side of the portal and removes the loading screen, making it more realistic)

I am a super true OG, I remember the days when Iron tools were the only tools you could obtain in creative or when mobs would still try to get you in creative (and nether reactor cores ;) )
Thinking about that ghast thing at the beginning of the video. You think that could be why they made the "Uneasy Alliance" Achievement? Like, as a nod to that feature
If you're lucky enough, couldn't you just search for strongholds and collect enough of the eyes to complete a portal?

If ghasts were in the overworld, then it would be easy to get the advancement ‘Is it a balloon?’
Perhaps not being able to see water through the nether portal was intentional, since you can see lava through it just fine? Though that would bring up the question on why they removed it :P
