A theory i have about nebulax: Nebulax in astro bot and Astro bot rescue mission are actually two seperate individuals. They likely are cousins or siblings. As nebulax looks noticeably different in astro bot from before. He voice sounds less menacing and more wacky, he lacks bumps and the rigid, he has less thrusters on the bottom of his ship and he even seems to he slightly smaller. Which suggests that the nebulax that appears in astro bot is younger than the one from rescue mission.

just realized the t-Rex fight from astros playroom was inspired by phase 1 of the alien,has a missile rain on phase 2, can shoot disks and shoot some random beam AND does slams so you can get a perfect combo on him. also he sounds like one of those crazy horror characters in Astro bot

That is probably the son of the alien in rescue mission because this one doesn’t have a chin and something robotic in his mouth but the one from rescue mission had it or maybe it’s the same guy but he lost his robotic parts in his mouth because of the injury but the chin idk what happened to the chin
I think I get why the original feels so epic compared to new boss fight. 1. The concept of a boss using a controller to battle you and Astro is awesome 2. He uses multiple attacks before you can finally hit him, making it take much more effort to defeat him. 3. New alien boss fight, while much more flashy, is too short. You will only ever be able to see 3 of his attacks in one run.
I don't know but it seems he finally moved out his gamer phase with the cost of his imitating appearance. Unless the VR was the reason why he looks different.

For the pig, he pulls out a fish-shaped rocket launcher. He will shoot energy fields attached to the rockets that the player must avoid with the pigs floating ability. After a while, a dud rocket will be launched onto the platform, inflate the rocket to launch themselves at nebulax before he finishes reloading
