idk...imo darren styles is an appropriate shoutout...uk hardcore and happy hardcore are fundamentally derivatives of tech (indeed it use to be called hardcore techno) and he's also a great sound designer..and you can use a single beat clip of a kick for e.g. in any genre you want regardless of what it was originally made for. (and also, i mean im just a nobody local dj, but I like and spin both ukhc and minimal tech, and I've heard the bigger local DJs of my city at my citys premier techno club mix darren styles and s3rl into really nasty dark minimal before, and they did it very well and even if I and my date [who i originally met as a fan of mine at one of my ukhc shows] where the only people in the audience who knew what the original tracks where, it got a great reaction from us)
