Akkalkot Swami is another name for Swami Samarth. Swami Samarth Akkalkot is considered a fourth avatar of Lord Dattatreya. The temple was built around a banyan tree. Darshan at the temple will give you peace and serenity.
Swami Samarth Maharaj is how he is referred to by most devotees and locals. The temple consists of the main temple, sabha mandap and accommodation. Annacchatra (free meals for devotees) is organized daily (two times in the day) by temple authorities.
