I think it was the hardcore with the feywild dogs that I did this exact build and I'm very happy to see you doing a build showcase now with it as it was very fun because at the time having call lightning storm like at level four or five let me do like a bunch of damage when I needed it with my lack of gear at the time

Tried this most fun ive had using call lightning while riding through explorers on horse. I did consider arcane archer at one point as air savant but think it stretches too thin on feats and ap.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out on my Stormsinger during my HElf lives, but since Bard doesn't really raise caster levels the same amount, it probably won't be quite as good. But since its a nice passive aoe that should proc the extra strikes, I'm hoping for the best, and if nothing else its a little more free damage.
It's still not too bad since you do get extra caster levels from stormsinger and spellsinger. Honestly it should be fairly close to this, just with less spellpoints.
It works great, stormsinger lit strike can proc out on each of Call lightning storm lit strike as well. It is fun, did a Sotrmsinger helf with same dragonmark and I'm keeping it at lvl 32 for a while
I tried this both on a artie caster and a bard stormsinger. You want to be half-elf for the free extra damage on spells via warlock dili, the storm is just gravy.
This feels like this would work on Bombardier alchemist as well with how many caster levels you get from the core enhancements.
Would this build work for a First Time player? I struggle to find an up to date beginner Sorc build (post Sonic spell nerf it seems several changes occured)

Im kinda lost on your video, how many charges of call lightning storm form dragonmark you have? 4?
Do you get only 1 from half elf tree? what gear u having that ups that to 4?
So there is an effect in T1 of the tree that gives you extra uses during call lightning storm. Additionally you can get a augment of dragonmarks from saltmarsh that gives you an extra 2 for a total of 6!
I guess now i know how im going to do my half elf racials!

does it work with int or wis based casters? the call lightning storm from half elf is cha based for spell dc?
Call lightning storm from half elf is charisma based and will not work on int or wis casters.
Makes me wonder what a warlock equivalent would be like 🤔
2 minute long lightning storms looks like an absolute blast.
I've been playing Fire sorcs almost exclusively, but this makes me at least consider Lighting as an option.
Shame it's racially bound, but that's the cost for the flavor and extra points in awesome.
Hey Strim, was thinking of leveling cold sorc, what would you recommend instead of Sonic Blast as it got nerfed a few months after your cold sorc build video.
Cold sorc is very strong in legendary and epics not as fun in lowbie heroics due to lots of mobs being immune
In heroics, just take fire spells until level 10 when you take cone of cold and ball lightning, as well as chain lightning and otilukes at 12/13, and then swap into cold/lightning at level 11 once you have cone of cold and ball lightning
Where did you all have the dance party in the second half of the video? It looks like you managed to get up on the roof of the lower half of Sharn, but I have no idea how one would do that...
Yep! We we're on top of lower sharn all right. Lower gravity from the stairwell was never removed from me, so while I was streaming I used a bracelet of friends to pull loads of people up there and we hung out.

I feel like I must have gotten unlucky with this spell. I tried it during a recent druid life (so about 6 to 12 months ago ish?)
Looked at it. Thought, this spell seems cool. Prepared it. Went into a quest full of enemies. Cast it. Didn't attack them just so I could get the full Call Lightning Storm experience.
I died because it literally. Didn't. Do. A single. Thing.
I left the quest and unprepared it. And never looked back.
They changed call lightning storm to hit every 3 seconds. I can't remember exactly when they changed it, but you may have played with old and more broken lightning storm. Definitely worth another look.
when you make new videos, would you consider making more play through from level 1 for new players? (or long away returners). People who get to epic consistently know how to build well at this point but new players have a hard time even getting to 32. I have been trying to get friends to play ddo but their reaction (whether having tried it or not) are always that the game is too difficult.
I literally have 2 full guided playthroughs on my channel, so I would recommend you recommend those videos to your friends!

@CK-ti2mf The issue I run into is I hate playing solo. I really love playing DDO as a group, and after finishing the two I uploaded I was really burnt out from DDO and took like a 2 week break. I can't promise I will do more solo playthroughs at this time.

13:45 Electric Loop is garbage??? Its the weaker version of chain lightning, but you also stun everyone. when i played electric sorcerer, even at lvl ~20 the SLA version was great CC.
Try scorch! It will change your life.
It's got the stun, but it also doesn't follow the new spell damage curve. So it's good and bad. The stun is nice though.

One thing you can do is put the link to the page you want to see into Google, and then instead of just clicking the link, click on the 3 dots next to the link and load the cached page; that might look ugly but it is an old snapshot of the build.

wait, does that spell "follow" you? I though it worked like storm of vengance and that made it bad
The spell is a buff on you, so enemies in range of you take the damage every 3 seconds, and it follows you.
Don’t you need higher dc’s for electric spells?
Electric spells require the same DCs as other evocation spells.
@@Strimtom I mean since most are reflex and reflex saves are usually higher no?
@@miked5647 all evocation spells can be evaded (except sonic spells - they are a Fort save). Doesn’t matter if you go fire, elec or cold.

The function of Heighten gets ambiguous then again i rarely read all the small print, if its actually there.
It increases the DC of your lower level spells, and you end up casting ball lightning and chain lightning enough for it to be worth it.

@@otakarkuby3926 I know Strimtom technically said what it does, but just to go into more detail for the purpose of understanding: In DDO, a spell's DC is equal to 10 + Your Casting Modifier + The level of the spell. (+ All the other DC boosty stuff, but that's irrelevant right now). So if you had a 20 stat, which gives a +5 Modifier:
a Burning Hands spell, which is a level 1 spell, will have a DC of 10 + 5 + 1 = 16. And,
a Meteor Swarm spell, which is a level 9 spell, will have a DC of 10 + 5 + 9 = 24.
What Heighten does, is raises the level of ALL of your spells with DCs, to that of the highest level you can cast. And then adds +5 Spell point cost per level raise.
So in the above example, you can cast Meteor Swarm. That means you can cast level 9 spells. So,
That same Burning Hands spell, treated as a level 9 spell through Heighten, will ALSO have a DC of 10 + 5 + 9 = 24. But since it's being raised 8 levels (Highest level you can cast [9] - Original Spell level [1], 9-1 = 8 levels raised), it will also get + (8 x 5) = +40 to it's spell point cost.

I tried this on my Druid. Has the spell naturally and its boosted to caster level 30. I was underwhelmed.
It lasted about 90 seconds and did ok damage but nothing to get excited about. I could try it as a sorc but I doubt the difference would be so dramatic as to warrant the effort in respeccing.

Monster Manual rewards
You have something called a monster manual (ctrl + M on the keyboard) and once you complete the kill counts in there you can see more stats of the monsters, including the HP
wrong information. you say that at level 32 you get 6 more caster levels, but only epic levels count for additional caster level/max caster levels (not legendary levels). and are you really showing the power of a spell by running non-legendary content at r1 difficulty?
Yes, I am, because that is basically all I talked about. It would be pretty bad if I recommended someone run R10s with this ability and that I told them it was insane for R10s if I didn't run it, right? Good thing I didn't do that, instead talking about how call lightning storm is a cool option but not the main feature of the build and talked about the levelling process.
