- Devin Booker & the Phoenix Suns have recently lost to the Adelaide 36ers in an opening preseason game at Phoenix. And Booker took to Instagram to call out the haters. Because of this, I've wanted to make a video detailing all the times Devin Booker made fans hate him (and there are plenty). These moments include the one with the Raptors mascot, the one where he refused to get double-teamed in an open gym, among many other.

It’s one of those situations where athletes are aware of their perception and use the media to influence it. If booker didn’t want the Kobe comparisons he would not have steered into it so hard. He wanted it and it really really backfired.

As someone who is 25 and watched the suns since i was 8, Dbook is the best suns player in team history by age 26 and will likely be one of the all time leading scorers in NBA history by career's end. To me all he has similar is Kobe’s Shot Creation but You would need to combine that with Zach Lavine Athleticism/Flair and Jimmy Butlers Defense to get Kobe. Before Chris Paul got to the suns they weren’t even making the playoffs with DBook leading them. I dont think he’s a great player, he’s a very GOOD player but not great. I don’t think he has the true undeniable hunger to be like a kobe bryant. Most players dont have the burning desire to win at all cost while simultaneously working harder then the men around you. Thats why we dont see Kobes ,MJs and Tim duncans on the regular. Most of our stars today are grossly overrated when compared to the great. Most of these guys are TMacs , Steve Francis’, Allen Iversons , and Vince carters. Thats no slight to them but legends only come around every blue moon. So when they compare tatum and booker to Kobe its almost offensive .
Kobe was on a different level at the same age as DBook and JT. JT has the height and the Athleticism to kill defenders attacking the rim but he doesn’t drive to the cup as much he should. And that to me makes his game predictable and he’s not a dog like kobe.
DBook doesn’t have the athleticism or the height, nor the hunger, only the shooting stroke. Yeah he can have lights out games but he doesn’t have them when they matter. Hes choked way too much and his defense isn’t elite.Kobe was a top guard defender most of his career.That alone is unacceptable on Bookers part.

I really don’t like Devin Booker for most of the reasons you pointed out, but with the kobe comparisons, i gotta admit, most of it isn’t his fault. If people compared me to my idol, I’d feel pretty good about it. Some of the stuff he says is really corny, but the media is the one shoving it down our throats. It definitely doesn’t help his case, but i don’t really blame him for that

This is a helluva reach. Why does everyone hate him exactly? Still can’t tell after this waste of a time. Also, if you did your research, that pickup game is way overblown- no one else got doubled that day. The PROS were all there to practice their game, not get doubled. No one else got doubled, and Joakim Noah was just being Jo trying to talk trash. It came outta nowhere that’s why he was annoyed. Didn’t happen again after that either the entire day. Just so happened to be caught on video and then everyone lost their minds over something trivial at best.

I think a couple of these points are you dogpiling on Booker a bit too much. I don’t like him but like smiling at Kobe’s jersey in a preseason game… don’t really see the problem with that and think it’s unfair to say it’s his fault for the Kobe comparisons just for showing love to his idle in a situation like that
