When a child(espically a daughter) says they wish to marry their parent it’s due to an inherent misunderstanding of what marriage is and whta that holds. They see it as a loving relationship between two people who live happily ever after together(unless they had unfortunate circumstances or sadly grew up too fast). They do not really recognize the *romantic* love in that relationship compared to the *familial* love between a child and parent.

I also lost my dad at a young age. It was a few weeks before my 11th birthday. I am now 27 and it’s still hard and videos like these still make me cry. You learn to move through life carrying the pain but it is extremely hard at first and it can still be very hard years later. There’s so many moments I’ve cried and wished my dad was here, even just in the last couple months.

When a child(espically a daughter) says they wish to marry their parent it’s due to an inherent misunderstanding of what marriage is and whta that holds. They see it as a loving relationship between two people who live happily ever after together(unless they had unfortunate circumstances or sadly grew up too fast). They do not really recognize the *romantic* love in that relationship compared to the *familial* love between a child and parent.
In a society that has an epidemic of absent fathers, these are the kind of positive father and child videos we need now more than ever. Men need more good role models. My parents found my husband for me. We like to joke that it's an arranged marriage because of the way we got set up by our parents and all the jokes about dowries.
