The only place in India to see Asiatic Lions in their natural habitat.
The thrill and chills you get to feel, when you hear a "Lion roar". It's much different then the tiger's one, more deeper base in voice.
Gir is a home to 650+ lion & lioness. Besides this you can possibly sight
leopard, striped hyena, mongoose, raptors like shikara, amur falcon, serpent eagle, owls. And other animals like spotted deer, nilgai, sambar deer.
Beside main Gir Jungle forest, there is another Devalia Safari park a smaller part of Gir where you can see lion in open area and Leopard in encloser.
Green Marker suggest to also visit Devalia atleast once in your whole trip of 3 or 4 safaris. It has a wonderful Terrain looks like a mini version of grassland from African forest.
