3:43, it's not a glitch. I think all the games on this engine have a feature where sheathing your weapon functions as a "surrender" mechanic. Sheathing your weapon while fighting guards in Oblivion and Skyrim causes them to do the arrest dialogue, and sheathing in FO3/FNV/FO4 usually just stops aggro'd NPCs
Oh yeah I know that but I believe the casinos are meant to be coded so that they don't except your surrender otherwise there would be no point in holdout weapons if you could just walk in with all of your guns, sheath them and then walk on through
@@Nerbit13098 It's dependent on the New Vegas guns, this is a directly ported weapon to Vegas from 3, which uh, is not that good. Since that gun is broken.
Every NPC has a relationship with you. They must be set to neutral or slightly positive, because they will not accept a yield if you have a negative relationship with them.
@@AceOfBlackjack I'm going to go out on a limb and say the code probably searches for weapons and not something like NV guns only. Especially since the guards will take modded weapons

"John Wilkes Benny" had me chuckling. Great stuff, looking forward to "Can You Beat Fallout: New Vegas as Leon Czolgosz?" where you have to assassinate President Kimball, do an independent Vegas run, and only use revolvers.
@@jonathanwells223 They did have rolled paper cartridges to put into the cap/ball revolvers, and there was a decent amount of brass shell weapons by the end of the war, such as the M1860 Henry Rifle in .44 Henry Rimfire (owning one was a point of pride for Confederate and Union soldiers alike), the M1865 Spencer Rifle and Carbines in .56-56, .56-52, and .56-50 Spencer Rimfire (you may recognize the carbine from RDR as the Repeater Carbine), various models of Joslyn Rifle and Carbine in rimfire configuration, and the Wesson M1859 in the centerfire .32 Long. Pistols of note include the M1864 revolver, which uses a Teat-fire cartridge, which acts sort like a rimfire cartridge, and the Rollin White revolver, the first American attempt at a cartridge revolver. There was only one made, and it malfunctioned dramatically, but it proved useful in gaining insight into the cartridge revolver's evolution. Sorry for the essay.
@@oneofmanyparadoxfans5447 I love the information, makes me wish they added the square round rifle, I forgot the name and apologize. If I am correct it was only used by the confederate army, in very very limited numbers.
I feel like it may have been better to kill benny in the ring with a sword. Abe actually got challanged to a dual and when asked what weapon he chose swords. This is why the action figure in fallout 3 has a sword
More info about this duel: Lincoln didnt actually know much about swordfighting, but believed he could figure it out relatively easily due to his strength and long limbs. Before the duel began proper, he took a practice swing at a tree and chopped the branch he swung at clean off in one hit. Seeing this, his opponent promptly surrendered.
I like how often you use special ammo because that’s the closest the game has to the original 44 rim fire that was used in the 1860 Henry lever action the Lincoln’s repeater is based on
Reagan run would include killing anyone who sales or uses drugs, so you can sell them yourself. Also selling guns to bad guys, so doing the Van Grafs quest

Brotherhood in fallout 4: “Synths are robotic abominations and must be destroyed!” Cyborg Lincoln: “I’m something of a robot myself.” That’s how I imagine talks with the Brotherhood in 4 would go.
They are ok with performance enhancing drugs and cybernetics and encourage them maxon is a cyborg and a powerful one at that and as for drugs this is hinted at with dialogue so no a clone with a robotic brain inserted inside it is wrong and correctly so as it is a empty husk with a computer in it that is why shut down codes work so very different one is a natural human enhanced by technology another is a robot given a clone body and a personality matrix that is a copy of a human
Awesome! I think for Fallout 4 it's obvious to side with the Railroad, but you should still do all the Minutemen stuff because America and also because it lets you set up artillery guns, which was one of the most important tactical advantages for the Union during the war. Also, I think the Bethesda game that needs a visit from Honest Abe the most after Fallout 4 is Morrowind because oh boy are there plenty of slaves in Morrowind.
3:50 that’s not a glitch it’s an actual game mechanic in fallout 3, new Vegas and 4 where when dealing with human enemies if you holster your weapon there’s a chance their hostility will end as you “surrendered” mid fight. But the chances of it happening is very rare and normally triggers on luck and charisma stats.
Unfortunately, there are huge limits on using the c finder. Several outdoor areas don't allow it, and no indoor area. It also would fail anywhere you get your weapons confiscated.
Max charisma, evil karma. Side with Mr. House since his plan for Vegas is essentially shitty Reaganomics. Can't kill any intelligent character unless it's with Archimedes or shiny presidential handguns (Maria, Sequoia Ranger, ASLID)
Can you beat fallout 4 as Paul Revere? wear hancocks outfit or the minutemen general outfit, and use only a revolutionary sword or laser musket. lastly youll need to side with the minutemen of course.
maybe have a MM and RR ending, /or at the very lease- have to follow the freedom trail in this run though while yelling the super mutants are coming! also you'll pass by Paul Revere's house so the character can reminisce upon the older days
Remind me again what John Hancock did and if it could tie into a fallout 4 playthrough, because if the clothing is from a guy named Hancock then why not just be John Hancock, also why did he name himself Hancock never played that deeply into Fallout 4?
Quick thing, the only speech options that get you on Dean Domino's bad side are ones where you actively threaten him, or any "Barter" skill checks, as using those imply that you're smarter than him in ways he simply won't tolerate and picking even one Barter check throughout the DLC turns him absolutely murderous toward you in the end. All the other skill checks during speech are perfectly fine.
Nope, only one matters: first one where you tell him that you are in charge. Everything else is free game. Except fro threatening him with broken legs ofc.
25:45 I would have argued given that .44 Magnum wasn't a period round, using revolvers would have been time-accurate for Lincoln, given that revolvers would have been a fairly common weapon by 1860.
44 Colt was an American centerfire revolver cartridge produced commercially from 1871 until the 1940s. The cartridge was developed for the United States Army, and introduced by Colt's Patent Firearms around 1871. The Army used it until 1873, at which time it was replaced by the better known we can just say it's 44 colt instead of 44 magnum
Since you've done Lincoln, and I assume you'll bring the good President back once again in Fallout 4, maybe doing good ole Teddy Roosevelt in all three games could be fun? Shotguns, revolvers, and lever guns, of course, fists are optional because of his enjoyment of boxing.
@@sorrenblitz805 In New Vegas you have the Families each controlling one aspect of things on the Strip,so they count. And I'd probably say Mr House too

It really just depends A bullet is mercy if you don't have the option to remove them
1/3rd of the way through the video and I have a suggestion. You should do a fallout 1/2 challenge. Maybe something along the lines of "Can you beat Fallout 1/2 with no weapons" or "as a group" type challenges. Just a thought, not a lot of people do challenges with theOG games so just something interesting to ponder on.
I'm proud of you for doing the DLC, as I predicted in the poll, but it would've been equally as nice to see a two-parter. Either way, it's always good to see freedom spread across the wasteland.
it's even more amazing when Modded, for one thing the game runs silky smooth, then you have a bevy of extra content at your fingertips. new Weapons, Gear, Quests and even new Playgrounds to use all your toys without running out of things to kill. i for example have the game modded to where i start my game back in the Capital Wasteland via Vault 101 and it is extended with more places to explore as well as restored cut content, then there's all the DC DLC and the Mojave which is also stuffed full of content, leaving New Vegas feeling a whole lot less barren.
... You do realize we need a Ronald Reagan run now, right? On a more serious note, this has been a really good video so far! (And I'm only 16 minutes in!)
I love this. A challenge run where you actually help out and ally multiple factions rather than going direct for bloodshed. I'd love to see one of your chase videos doing this, but I think we all know that's never happening.
The Radscorpion Queen really is the scariest mob in all of Fallout. I remember in FO3 when I used VATS to throw grenades, and it decided to do a close up of a regular Radscorpion. Not a pretty face to see!
I tried looking for a mod that forces every NPC into being hostile, but could not find it, which made me sad. It made me sad because the thought of Doc Mitchell immediately moving to beat the shit out of Nerbit was proof enough that the run would be hilarious.
A good middle-point would be using console commands to set every faction's reputation to -100 the moment you leave Doc's house. Not every *single* character would become hostile, but nearly all NPCs along the path of the main quest would. If anything, seeing which NPCs aren't hostile would be interesting on its own.
This was an interesting video. I learned of weapons I didn't know about, and it was just an all around blast to watch. Also, here's an idea for a challenge run if you are still looking for new ideas. Can you beat Skyrim as Simon Belmont?
I feel like you should've been allowed to get Unique variants of the Lincoln's Repeater, such as the Medicine Stick. They're functionally the same as Lincoln's Repeater in terms of Fallout, but gun nuts could tell the differences. I doubt Lincoln wouldn't be able to work the Medicine Stick, however.
Medicine Stick is a completely different gun, just because both have levers doesn't mean they are the same. Lincoln's Repeater is a unique weapon in FO3, but the Point Lookout DLC added non-unique versions of it which used 10mm ammo for whatever reason.
I tune in every now and then and watch you do these quests and am immediately encouraged to play new vegas just remembering how much i love this game, and hoping in the future that maybe just maybe Obsidian will be able to make another fallout game.
This is the first video I've watched in this challenge series, thanks to TH-cam recommendations. I like that you committed to the character of Lincoln. It makes for some very interesting ingame choices. Lol
I want to say this as kindly as possible, this video is like the TH-cam equivalent of chloroform to me. Every single time I watch I fall asleep. I have had to skip ahead multiple times just to see the ending because otherwise I will fall asleep. It's not that it is boring, it is a great video, but for some reason it is soothing.
If you ever go back to OWB, I recommend keeping an eye out for the special version of the Proton axe known as the Protonic inversal Axe. Despite the damage, that thing can tear through pretty much any enemy with relative ease.

I can explain the death claw you one shot assuming it's the one I think it is. If thats the death claw you see right before encountering the tunnelers for the first time it has its health drastically reduced for the first tunneler to be able to body it
Fun fact: if you steal the van graff combat arnour before starting their first job, it becomes a quest item, if you get motor runners helmet and not turn it in it becomes a guest item, plus sub dermal armour gives you about 25 dt wothout perks like stone wall. All this makes dead money really easy

37:50 That deathclaw has about 50 hp I think. It's supposed to run the corner and get one shot by a tunneler to make them seem intimidating.
It's scripted to just die but it does have extremely low health as well. If you just follow you see it just falls over and dies but it's supposed to be saying that tunnelers are deadly to solo deathclaws
I just think its funny whenever I just sprint up to him and 2-tap him with a nail gun or smtn
I shot at it while having the Living Anatomy perk, which allows me to see its health, and its health was somewhere between 50 and 120, I don't remember exactly.
Oh, I never saw the tunnelers kill it because I always thought it was a normal deathclaw that somehow didn't notice me
Tunnellers are more imtemadating than cazadores. Change my mind.
I've been playing this game for almost a decade. That was a bug. Casinos are supposed to stay aggro'd specially if you chose the dialogue to not give up your weapon.
I love how at 10:40 we get to see Abe just style on the slave keeping assassins. As he just levitates, does a 360, and kills one of them.
"John Wilkes Benny" had me chuckling. Great stuff, looking forward to "Can You Beat Fallout: New Vegas as Leon Czolgosz?" where you have to assassinate President Kimball, do an independent Vegas run, and only use revolvers.
I think porting over the .32 from FO3 would definitely be appropriate for this
There were tons of revolvers in Lincoln's day. Using one in this run is just adding some variety to your available weapons.
only cap and ball though, brass cartridges were only widely adopted in the US *after* the civil war.

I feel like it may have been better to kill benny in the ring with a sword. Abe actually got challanged to a dual and when asked what weapon he chose swords. This is why the action figure in fallout 3 has a sword
he chose broadswords if i remember the exact type of thing he picked
More info about this duel:
Lincoln didnt actually know much about swordfighting, but believed he could figure it out relatively easily due to his strength and long limbs. Before the duel began proper, he took a practice swing at a tree and chopped the branch he swung at clean off in one hit. Seeing this, his opponent promptly surrendered.
I’ve been waiting so long for this! So excited to see Lincoln liberate the mojave

25:45 I would have argued given that .44 Magnum wasn't a period round, using revolvers would have been time-accurate for Lincoln, given that revolvers would have been a fairly common weapon by 1860.
The magnum rounds in New vegas are usually .357
44 Colt was an American centerfire revolver cartridge produced commercially from 1871 until the 1940s. The cartridge was developed for the United States Army, and introduced by Colt's Patent Firearms around 1871. The Army used it until 1873, at which time it was replaced by the better known

it's even more amazing when Modded, for one thing the game runs silky smooth, then you have a bevy of extra content at your fingertips. new Weapons, Gear, Quests and even new Playgrounds to use all your toys without running out of things to kill. i for example have the game modded to where i start my game back in the Capital Wasteland via Vault 101 and it is extended with more places to explore as well as restored cut content, then there's all the DC DLC and the Mojave which is also stuffed full of content, leaving New Vegas feeling a whole lot less barren.

I tried looking for a mod that forces every NPC into being hostile, but could not find it, which made me sad.
It made me sad because the thought of Doc Mitchell immediately moving to beat the shit out of Nerbit was proof enough that the run would be hilarious.
Literally the only npcs not out for blood would probs be the doc (tutorial) Ede (he’s deactivate and repairing him activated follower) and Rhonda
A good middle-point would be using console commands to set every faction's reputation to -100 the moment you leave Doc's house.
Not every *single* character would become hostile, but nearly all NPCs along the path of the main quest would. If anything, seeing which NPCs aren't hostile would be interesting on its own.
