Absolutely right on, this is a long term continuous build and isn't going anywhere for quite some time. Felt that way since the second year of the rebuild...
We are just now at the point where the rubber meets the road. If we survive the coaching talent changes as other teams raid our cupboard and survive the handling of cap space as these draft picks come into contract negotiations, then we can grade the total success of the front office changes. And yes, I am moving the goalposts. If we don't, we can't see long-term success.
They'll be just fine. Dan has shown an eye for up and coming talent and Brad has already shown he's good with the cap last off-season. 3 key positions he got in front of the market on. Saved the team 10ish million annually by doing so. We'll be straight, they're building a dynasty
Giving up five picks for Tyreek Hill is insane. I know WRs make bank but they are kinda easy to come by, look how many late round or even late first round receivers are balling tf out; yea it's never a guarantee but it isn't that hard to get a guy even if you have lower picks. Nico Collins was a 3rd rounder the same year Amon-Ra went in the 4th. Tee Higgins went 2nd round with Mike Pittman Jr. Hell, even Justin Jefferson was 22nd overall. George Pickens was like 52nd overall, Khalil Shakir (I know he's not exactly a "stud" but he's good) was like 148th. Puka was 177th...
😂😂😂😂😂 Detroit was bounced out of the playoffs at home against a rookie QB. And You guys had the absolute nerve to say they are the best nfl franchise...this podcast did not age well 😂😂😂😂
They won't be a model franchise if our coaches come for 2-3 yrs then leave for more money leaving them to try and find a replacement which are in short supply. Who is going to replace Ben Johnson and/or Aaron Glen?? I hope they will be loyal to the franchise and fan base
That’s a dumb take. They have been here longer than the majority of coordinators who have success. You dont think the Lions have been preparing for this eventuality? They have people who have been on deck and working with those same people. Ben Johnson was a freaking tight ends coach before he was elevated to OC. Whoever they elevate (likely Tanner Engstrand for Ben and either Terrel Willliams or Kelvin Benjamin for AG) will be great. And if they struggle, Dan Campbell has proven that he will make the tough decisions to get the right guy in there. But they have known for a long time what the deal is, and they are prepared. No good team keeps their coordinators for more than a couple years and many of them continue to be good. Loyalty isnt a thing in pro sports. Its amazing BJ stayed as long as he did.
@MP_Beardown...All time the KC Chiefs are 9 wins 6 losses vs the Lions. Mahomes & KC Chiefs has NEVER beaten Jared Goff and the Lions. So therefore, I think🤔 the Lions have a better football team than the Kansas City Chiefs
@@Ciscohashy...the Commanders had a mistake free lucky day. Stats say the Commanders are NOT the better team. The Lions still scored 31 points, but had 5 turn-overs. That's what hurt the Lions

They're now one of the franchises who u can pencil into the playoffs every year
We have to keep on winning…
I gotta hear Chase say "Do the Humpty Hump" just one good time😄😄😄

Id put them at 2, you have to get past chiefs by winning superbowl. This rebuild has been A+ though for sure

Every great coach/team has their coordinators poached.
