- Another American civil war battle. This one is close, the listener is in the battle among the soldiers and the chaos... A lot of screaming, muskets firing, trumpets playing out the commands, cannons and stuff.

About 10-15 years ago I was shooting with the North-South Skirmish Association, and some people were recording live fire sounds. When there is a National Skirmish there is around 400 people shooting live rounds in times matches. There is also live fire Cannon and mortars. The minie balls make a distinct whistling sound when fired. I would hate to be on the receiving end.

Those sound more like flintlocks being fired, but then again old percussion locks make some strange sounds when being fired too. Im just saying. Maybe its both, flintlocks were used in the Civil War but only really in the early days and mainly by those volunteers who brought them with them.

Yeah, you are right - it does need that to be complete kind of. Only thing is we took at from Call Of Juarez game, that's how it sounds, we only added some rifles, screams and trumpets. We might do that in the future, if not - just find some of those sounds and add them... :)
