We have a lot of dead Ash trees on our farm in N E Missouri. We are burning it in the woos stove this winter. I love how Grammy is passing on her baking skills to the next generation. We have at zero temps with minus windchills. Going out several times a day to check on my small chicken flock to gather eggs and make sure the water is open. Eggs have been freezing so gather every couple hours.

You can put an old crock pot in the chicken coop and fill it with water to keep it from freezing... It can also be put on a timer at night when the temps dip or just kept on low through real cold spells

Here in the West we have a similar tree pest called the bark beetle which is devastating Pine Trees all over mostly California's Sierra Nevada Mountains but also in other Western States a bit too. Glad Miss Callie has great behavior as I think she mostly does! I am glad she sees a bit of your family's business even at a tender pre-school age. You are doing fine Andrew! Really fine!
