    Wow! We Nigerians should be very proud of a Nigerian like legend Ngozi. Not counting where or the religion the person comes from. Note that the world didn't look out for religion but the value and potential a person carries to achieve goals. Thank you ma'am for this powerful speech linking science and tech. To climate change, agricultural science, world policy making and human capacity building all in one presentation. Ma'am I am so proud to called a Nigerian cus of many likes of you.

    To think that this legend of a woman is a Nigerian where every 4yrs they chose nonentities to lead them is so painful.

    • @alexischimaoguama719
      @alexischimaoguama719 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      It is unimaginably painful. Nigeria is a country where the idiots lead the genius and of course leading them back to ignorance and darkness. So painful my friend.

      Nigeria political system is what can be termed Kakistocracy - a government run by the most irresponsible, or worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens.

      People keep deluding themselves about Nigeria. So sorry, but Nigeria is not meant to be a real "country", it is nothing but a medium for Europe, America and Saudi Arabia to be controlling and exploiting Africa. The only way out, is for people who believe in Nigeria to insist on a real constitution that guarantees autonomy to the regions the way they were, East, West and North.
      Or a Referedum for total break-up.

      @@immaculate2197 You've said the bitter truth, the cause of Nigeria's woos is generally attributable to religion and above all tinge of tribalism
      This is electioneering period, and you see and hear people supporting their preferred candidates for ethnic and religious lines, the two most prominent amongst the presidential candidates have been indicted by an American tabloid Bloomberg, for corruption ranging from drug trafficking and money laundering respectively
      But inspite of those heinous accusations people are still routing and supporting them,bc of tribal, ethnic and religious lines, they don't care,for them let the sufferings and looting of our common wealth continue adinfinitum

    What a beautiful speech dear DG world-bank Madame Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. You were lucky to scale through as an indigent international student during your time. However, foreign education has changed,not favouring us-international students no more. Despite being the most brilliant in our classes evident with excellent grades, schools are not supporting majority of us again, we pay exorbitant fees(almost thrice fees paid by local students) through our nose, yet some dropped out due to inability to pay school fees. It shouldn't be a sin on us striving to get quality of education outside our country, why are we been punished for wanting to use our brain to develop the world by acquiring quality education. DG ma,please we seek your indulgence to appeal to foreign schools(especially US,UK and Germany) to look at ways to assist international students that are doing well academically and extra-curricular activities in ensuring money did in any way make them stop their academic pursuit.
    We hope you can do this for us!
    Thank you
    Kind regards,
    Olutayo Oseni
    International Student
    United States

    I've seen alot (well some) commencement speeches from different people and I must say that I find her absolutely brilliant. She didn't come here to baby them or give overly emotional speeches that will move them only for the moment. She hit the nail on the head, she tells them of the responsibilities that await and the opportunities available to them to better themselves and others . She's truly a phenomenal woman. I am so proud of her and all that she is.
