In the old days. When we "stuck" hogs to be butchered we cut the same artery you cut with your broadhead. We inserted the knife blade above the brisket "aiming" for the tailhead then rotated the blade dwn. Maximum blood loss.
Great video! Went on my first hog hunt and smoked a 300lb boar 1st morning at 10ft in FL with 300blkout. Took 3 more over the next 2 days. Unfortunately it had been raining all week and the bow was brought out once with no good shots on the 3 that I saw. Hog hunting is definitely a new go to hunt for me. Hopefully the weather allows for the bow next time.
What part of Texas are y’all in? That first hog was a tank! I shot one in south of Kerens Texas that bled like that one…never found her. Tough tough animals
Headed to florida in may, can’t quite tell in the video (I’m farsighted) but do you have to hold low on a pig like a deer to account for it ducking, or do they usually stay still?
