Mahalo for being so open about mental health. I’m a therapist and I’m so grateful when people share their struggles because it normalizes mental health; we all wrestle with something at some point in our life. There is also strength in vulnerability. 🌺🤙🏼❤️
Awesome that Roman mentioned Guam!! As a Guamanian who loves Hawaiian Reggae, ever since it was called Jawaiian (yeah, I’m old😂); really appreciate that. Have been to a Kolohe Kai concert in Saipan…freakin unbelievable show!! Have been to many other concerts by Hawaiian groups. Great pod! 🤙🏽🇬🇺🇲🇵
Got to know who Roman is through American Idol and Iam Tongi! Loved listening to this and getting to know him better! He shows alot of humility and authenticity. His wife is beautiful and I loved them singing together. Thanks for sharing your aloha Roman and for the Keep it Aloha podcast for this! ❤️ Hopefully I can see him in concert one day!
According to Therapy Group of NYC and integrative psych - “shrink” comes from “head shrinker” which refers to the ancient practice of shrinking the head of a conquered enemy. … treatment of healing practitioners of indigenous cultures involving the use of shrunken heads
They say, "it takes a village to raise a child" he must have had an entire community of people in his life that provided for and interacted positively for him to grow in a safe and healthy environment. Hence, the way he speaks. 💪🏽🤙🏽
I like how he didn’t once mention that his entire career is owed to the bruddah that he stole his original song from. Ask anyone from Kaneohe who went school around the same time as Roman, they’ll know what’s up
