Those eastern provinces and Crimea historically belonged to Russia anyway. The eastern provinces were given to Ukraine following the fall of the USSR, which was arranged by the Western powers, not by Russia OR Ukraine. Seems to me this is simply a return of land that was Russia's to begin with. Ukrainians should make peace under these conditions.

What Russia can do here is give all the territories back to Ukraine except Crimea with a condition saying we never wanted to take these land but we were forced to because of threat of nato expansion. we agree on giving all these territories back if you accept the offer of non alignment to nato, always remain neutral, having peaceful relation with both Russia and eu, including Russia assisting in rebuilding all the areas that were occupied., destroyed. First of all Russia already has most of the land that would be "conceded". Secondly, when did Zelensky ever care what his countrymen think. Zelensky ran his campaign (2018 and 2019) as the peace candidate. This is what Ukrainians wanted all along. In March 2022 when Ukraine could have retained its independence only recognizing Crimea as Russian and accepting neutral country status did Zelensky consider the wishes of his citizens? No. He only considered the wishes of his masters in Washington.

First of all Russia already has most of the land that would be "conceded". Secondly, when did Zelensky ever care what his countrymen think. Zelensky ran his campaign (2018 and 2019) as the peace candidate. This is what Ukrainians wanted all along. No. He only considered the wishes of his masters in Washington.

This war shouldn't have happened in the first place, Putin's terms were very reasonable and the annexation of the eastern parts of Ukraine should have been agreed to from the beginning which would have saved many Ukrainian and Russian lives.
All of it could have been avoided if Ukraine had honoured its agreements in the Minsk accords. Over 500,000 Ukrainians killed just because the Nationalists could not agree to allow the ethnic Russian population of Ukraine to keep their culture and language as protected under the constitution.

Allowing Ukraine to join NATO is not an option that Russia would allow. Ukraine should be neutral as a buffer zone. Consider it from the perspective that the US was in Russia's place, what would the US do? The sooner the West and Ukraine wake up, the sooner there will be peace and senseless war and bloodshed will stop!
