    Welcome to the Foxhole 🦊🤘🔥
This is nothing like any other band or group you've seen before, a wild journey is waiting for you.
Unfortunately you started with a mediocre live compilation, always try to enjoy a full original clip, we know sometimes is hard to get through the blocked but there are certain clips safe to react, in this case you can enjoy live at Budokan 2014 version.
    Next suggestion:
    - Headbanger!! live in Legend 1997 (2013), Gans Tomas got that clip under Head Bangya title.
If you look for official MV the only worth to watch are:
    - Megitsune
    - Karate
    - Doki Doki Morning
Anything else always go for live performance, they got more MV you can check it out after the live version if you want.
    See you next time 🦊🤘

The girls were 11 and 12 years old when they first started, and in their mid-teens in this performance. However, the band name has nothing to do with their ages. The meaning behind the name is two-fold. First, their unique blend of heavy metal and j-pop was a brand new genre that they created, a newborn genre of music, as it were, so their producer Koba named them Babymetal to refer to that brand new music genre. Also, one of the Japanese words for "heavy" is "bebi," which sounds very close to the English word "baby," so "bebi metal" literally means "heavy metal."

I strongly suggest Headbanger live at Legend 1997, celebrating Sumetal's 16th birthday, to see the genius that is Babymetal. The band and Su are incredible, but this shows why the two younger girls (Moa and Yui, 14 at the time) connect with the crowd and dial the performance up to 11. Its amazing.
Road of Resistance the official video or Megitsune (live or the MV) are great too. Babymetal are best performing live. Enjoy the trip 😎

I'm Japanese. Thank for your reaction.
    They are already adults now.
The vocalist is always selected as one of the top rock singers in the world by famous music magazines in the United Kingdom and is called 'Queen' in the metal world.
So I recommend their latest official MV, for example 'Mirror mirror', 'Metal kingdom' on You Tube.😀

Welcome to Babymetal! Ever since discovering them, they’ve become my favorite band, period!
Babymetal are 13 year veterans of the show biz, who started in 2010 at the age of 12/11. This was a compilation of various concerts from 2013-2016, so they were mid-teens in these videos.
Babymetal is the J-Rock band that truly broke through to the west, thus paving the road for bands such as Band-Maid. They have 9 years of world tours, 4 albums, and 60+ songs.
Babymetal is a live performance group, so watching them live is so much better than music videos. Trust us fans on this. Besides, they only have ~10 actual music videos. Rest of their “MV” are live video with studio audio.
This song is about a traditional Japanese game of hide and seek / tag, where adults in the village dress up as ogres to scare naughty kids into behaving better. Only Babymetal can make such an adorable and cute song so brutal 🤣.
    Here are a few suggestions:
1). Road of Resistance (Official Live): best showcase of Babymetal doing “classic” metal. Oh, and 17-year old Su-metal commands 20K fans to a wall of death and circle pits.
2). BxMxC (Live is best, but MV is good too): Su-metal drop some bars, straight 🔥.
3). Monochrome (Pia Arena MM 2023): Babymetal in their mid-20s now, doing a beautiful hard-rock song with heavy metal elements.
4). iine! (Official MV): 2nd song ever released, “Baby” Babymetal pulls off EDM, Rap, and Metal in an epic face slapping fashion.
Look forward to more Babymetal! 🤘🦊

Babymetal encourages mosh'sh (moshushu) pits at their concerts. Basically a kinder, gentler mosh. At 8:14 you can see at least one circle pit in the audience. There are a couple of songs where there is usually a call for a wall of death.

Welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 Just to answer one question you had, BABYMETAL do have walls of death and mosh pits at all their concerts.🤘
BABYMETAL formed in 2010, there were 3 original members (they were only 12 and 11 years old at the time) and we have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet.
They have 4 studio albums (plus more live albums) 'BABYMETAL' 2014 (re-released 2015), 'Metal Resistance' 2016, 'Metal Galaxy' 2019 and 'The Other One' 2023.
The name BABYMETAL is not about their age, but it probably did play a part too. The name was chosen for two reasons:
    - to symbolise that they gave birth to a new genre of metal music (kawaii metal)
    - because the writing (and pronunciation) in Japanese is nearly identical to the writing of "heavy metal" (and they love a pun):
    BABYMETAL = ベビーメタル (be-bi-me-ta-ru)
    heavy metal = ヘビーメタル (he-bi-me-ta-ru)
BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist), Moametal and Momometal (in charge of backing vocals, harmonies and mainly hyping and involving the crowd with their choreo).
The original third member Yuimetal last performed in October 2017 and was absent for 12 months for health reasons until she announced in October 2018 that she was still not fully recovered and would be leaving the band.
Momometal, was revealed as the new official third member on 1st April 2023.
BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they brought a fusion of great metal instrumentals coupled with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics to create their very own sub-genre ... and they have continued to develop and evolve from those beginnings.
They don't limit themselves to any one main style or genre and you won't be able to pigeonhole or put them in any one box like you can with virtually every other band in the world, they are one of a kind and they invented their own genre and style that nobody has been able to copy successfully (some have tried, none came close) including bringing choreographed dancing to metal (but not as you might know it from pop acts where it is nearly always used just to fill the stage or give you almost naked girls (and boys) to look at to take your mind off often bland music).
BABYMETAL's choreo helps with interpreting the song - a lyric or the meaning etc, but it is designed to involve and lead the crowd, to give them their cues when to jump, shout, pump their fists, chant and so on. BABYMETAL are complete masters of crowd control and crowd involvement.
They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist.
The Kami band was phased in gradually from October 2012. They played a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows. Legend 1997 (Su-metal's 16th birthday celebration in December 2013) was the last big concert where they only played the encores.
The Kami Band became the full time support for all live shows from the next big concerts on 1st and 2nd March 2014 at the Budokan in Tokyo right after the release of BABYMETAL's first album.
In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and they have been supporting BABYMETAL on their more extended foreign tours since then.
'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek I've ever heard. It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni 👹(a sort of Japanese ogre popular in regional festivals and used specifically to frighten children ... which amuses me probably more than it should😁).
The growling vocals (they are on a backing track, there are very few songs where we might know who does them) are the Oni👹 asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃‍♀🏃‍♀🏃‍♀👹
This was a fan made compilation video and it used clips from about 10 different concerts from about 2013 to 2017, the biggest one being at the Tokyo Dome with 55,000 people there.
They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different from the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it.
The official videos are all good and worth seeing, but BABYMETAL are a live act, that is where they will always be at their best (including their live audio).
I think a good place for you to go from here would be BABYMETAL's very first time in the UK, their first metal festival, their first major event outside of Japan. They had 25 minutes, just 5 songs, to win over a sceptical and potentially hostile crowd of over 50,000 UK metalheads, probably 98% of them had no idea who BABYMETAL were.
The last song of the set was 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (Bullying, No More, For Ever) live at Sonisphere UK 2014. You can hear what the crowd thought at the end as the girls walk off stage.

Nice reactions! I understand wanting to see more music videos but BABYMETAL is all about the live performances. The studio versions of the songs are kind of like blue prints for them and the songs are perfected when they play them live. But if you really want to see a music video I would suggest a MV for their newest song called METALI (featuring Tom Morello). It's such new song that there aren't really good proshot live videos for it that won't get blocked so watching the music video makes sense.

The earliest show featured was 'LEGEND 1999', from June 30th, 2013.
The most recent show was 'Tokyo Dome Red Night', from September 19th, 2016.
Lead singer Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or Su) was 15 at 'LEGEND 1999'.
Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) was 14, and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) was about to turn 14.
At Tokyo Dome they were 18, 17 and 17.
Su just turned 26 in late December.
    Yui and Moa are 24.
Unfortunately, Yui left the group in 2018 for health reasons.

No there is a simple reason why they were out of school. Previously they were part of Sakura Gakuin and they finished Sakura Gakuin when they finishe school. So I would presume Su was 17 and Moa and Yui 15. And BabyMetal had nothing to do with their ages, but with the writing of Heavy Metal in Japanese. But as we see this is in fact a compilation. The costume changes are quite obvious. And they had nothing to with Animes. They produced 4 albums till now. And their Cooperation with Dragon Force was Road of Resistance, their normal closing song in the current line up. But their current Band is no longer the Kami Band but the Western Kami Band that was originally founded for US and europe Concerts. But the Kami Band is to well known. While the Western Kami Band is significantly younger. While they had to prove in a concert that they can kerp pace with the Kami Band. And in 2023 the Kami Band was used a single time While The Western Kami Band was used for all other more than 100 concerts in that year.

You are correct this song takes elements from the past, actually a lot of songs from the first album had this. Actually, the first 2 albums were about learning about metal by using this unusual mix of metal and vocals/style.
Babymetal is at the forefront of a new Japanese metal/rock wave internationally. They really blew up internationally since up in 2014, up to 2016. And still gaining fans. They were a bit of a shock to the metal world, nobody had done anything like this before. But in part because they included such elements from the past and lots of melodic elements in the vocals, etc. They sort of had broad appeal. Although clearly Babymetal isn't for everyone.

Baby Metal has become in, roughly 12 years, a real force in the metal world, but they are also a multi-genre group that uses influences from all over the planet and kill it every time. To give you a much better idea of what they do, react to "Road of Resistance-Live In Japan" from the 2015 concert at Saitama Super Arena and "Headbanger !!!!" from the Legend 1997 Apocalypse Concert in 2013, which was in honor of lead singer Su-Metal's 16th birthday. They are perhaps the two best songs to react to in beginning your journey with Baby Metal.
Regarding other rock groups, you can check out another Japanese band called Glim Spanky, who play classic blues rock with a 1960's flavor and are excellent. The best song to start with would be "Circle of Time" from their 2020 Live TH-cam Concert, it is just fire.
Another good all-female group that is relatively new is South Korea's Rolling Quartz, who had a very successful 2023 tour here in the US. They are hard rock with a real edge and a great vocalist. "Fearless" is a great song to start with.
Another Japanese all-female rock group who are outstanding is SCANDAL, who are entering their 18th year together and are still as relevant now as they ever were. An excellent song to react to is "A.M.D.K.J." a really edgy composition.
My last suggestion is yet another all-female Japanese band who will really impress you named Lovebites. They are a rock/metal mix with an almost operatic quality to their performances and their musicianship is excellent. A great song to react to is "Stand and Deliver". All of the groups I mentioned are better listened to live rather than MV, but make your own decisions.

Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents.
Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result.
At first Amuse showed little interest and the girls had financing mainly from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia).
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine.
They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start.

Yui Mizuno left BabyMetal in 2018 due to health reasons and at their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019 after Yui's departure) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again.

Nice first reaction. Welcome to the Foxhole and the best music journey in the solar system.
In the end it doesn't matter which song you choose, every single one is unique and awesome, Babymetal doesn't make filler songs and they never disappoint.
Always go for the live performances of their songs (they do have very good MVs, but live is always even better with them, if you do a MV, I suggest making a double reaction with live as well)

Best music video from BabyMetal is "Megitsune" (shows them when they were 12,13,15 yrs old, probably their best song, this or Kingslayer, at least from their older stuff), but they are best known for their live shows! The quality is better then most live shows.

They were at school - at least for the first few years of the band 😂 As for videos - Babymetal is nearly always better live - with a few exceptions - otherwise you miss out on a lot of great intros, stage sets, lighting, the band (amazing) and of course - the crowd participation. There are still some great videos out there - and a lot of "official" (unsually unfortunately in my view - you'll miss out on a lot often) videos around though

Good reaction. Welcome to the crazy universe of BabyMetal.
BabyMetal is an atypical heavy metal group, because they are idols. In Japan, idols are often paired with pop music (Jpop), and Babymetal was actually a subgroup of a larger idol group called Sakura Gakuin.
Sakura was made up of girls between 10 and 15 years old dedicated to Jpop. When SuMetal (the singer) started she was 12 years old and MoaMetal/YuiMetal (the backup singers) were only 10 years old. Sakura represented the Japanese high school and the girls were distributed in clubs (traditional Japanese extracurricular activities such as cooking, swimming, basketball, sewing, etc.).
One of the producers, a lover of heavy metal, saw that Su's singing could perfectly be used in metal and asked permission from the Mother House (Amuse) to create the heavy music club, proposing an experiment in fusion between metal and the pop. Nobody, as they themselves have confessed, had much hope for its outcome, but they gave it the green light and thus BabyMetal, Sakura Gakuin's heavy music club, was born.
The first songs were intended for girls between 10 and 15 years old, who were Sakura's target audience. However, their quality and the fusion between pop and metal attracted attention beyond this audience and they began to frequent their metal concerts... a shocking audience of children and metalheads.
And it worked, it worked so well that they began to support groups like Metallica, Red Hot, BMTH or Lady Gaga, I seem to remember, on their tours in Japan. And the Red Hot singer commented that he was impressed to realize that part of the public came to see them, not them.
And so the base of BabyMetal fans grew. Sakura was a group in which, upon turning 15, the members had to leave (to pursue their careers elsewhere) and the producer (KobaMetal) requested permission again to create BabyMetal as an independent group. Success was already beginning to become a reality in Asia, so they authorized it, although Moa and Yui (they were still 13 years old) would also continue to be part of other Sakura clubs (I don't know when the poor girls studied, but they did).
In 2014 a milestone would arrive in the group's history. They were already an established metal group in Asia that sold out concerts, but they had not yet made the leap to the West. In that year his song "Gimme Chocolate" rose to fame on TH-cam (currently 182M views) and attracted the attention of the producers of the Sonisphere festival. KobaMetal had doubts about taking the step, since their musical proposal (Kawaii Metal or Cute Metal, a genre of which they are considered creators) might not be accepted in the West and the metalheads who went to the Sonisphere had a reputation for saying goodbye to very bad manners to the artists they didn't like (even with bottles full of urine), but they were offered to go to one of the secondary stages (about 5000 spectators) and they ended up accepting.
But the success of BabyMetal on TH-cam and the fact that all the concerts they were going to give in Europe were sold out in a few days, convinced the producers to take them to the main stage, where they would share with groups like Metallica, for example.
How many girls (they were between 16 and 14 years old at that time) were "terrified" before going out, and they didn't know what scared them more: that they wouldn't understand their music and they would have to run away or that when they went out on stage it would be empty. .
But the story was very different, not only was it not empty, but more than 50,000 metalheads, an estimated 95% of whom had never heard of them, finished their fifth and last song chanting "another one, another one."
And that's how they achieved popularity in the West as well.
They currently have 4 albums on the market:
-Babymetal (2013): Their first album and the most childish of all, since they were between 15-13 years old when it came out and had energetic, positive music that left a smile on their faces. Catch me if you can is from this album.
-Metal Resistence (2016): an album that, without losing the essence of the first, shows more mature music, going from childhood to adolescence. Songs like Karate were a large part of his presentation in the West.
-Metal Galaxy (2018): a turning point in its style. Without abandoning their energy, they turned their attention to new forms of metal fusion (hip-hop, dance music, Hindu music or European folklore, among others), projecting a much more mature music in keeping with their age, which was already around 21 years old. of Su and the 18 of Moa (unfortunately Yui left the group due to health problems).
And now in 2023 they have just released their new album "The Other One", which is, again, totally different from what they have done until now (one of the hallmarks of BabyMetal is that their songs are usually very different some from others (although they are all positive adrenaline releases).
Currently BabyMetal is considered the most important Heavy Metal group in Japan (I'm not saying the best, that's for everyone to decide) and the most influential in history in the West (it has reached levels that no other Japanese heavy group has reached before). ).
The journey through the Babymetal galaxy may be long, but it is certainly entertaining and with a few songs it drags you with a smile into the fox hole

This song is about playing hide and seek with an ogre. It’s hard to tell how old they are here because it’s a compilation but they should be around 13-16.
Su (lead singer) is currently 26, Moa (scream and dance) is 24, Momo (new member, does scream and dance) is 20, and if you’re watching their older videos you’ll see Yui who’s the original third member of the band. Yui is the same age as Moa and quit because of health issues with her last performance being in 2017.

It’s a pity that you reacted to a compilation video. Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. You are not reacting to BABYMETAL, you are reacting to a highlight reel of BABYMETAL. Please try again. Anyway . . . .
You’ve opened a can of worms!
BABYMETAL has an extensive history which I won’t get into but a quick synopsis: they’ve been around for a bit over thirteen years now (they started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the band in 2018 because of health concerns, and early in 2023 Momometal (Momoko Okazaki) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer.
BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art. I suggest you go back to the beginning, and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay"), both released in 2012. You’ll notice those are the first two on this list of recommended songs:
Doki Doki Morning (official music video)
    Iine! (official MV)
Gimme Chocolate!! (official MV or Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
    Megitsune (official MV)
BABYMETAL Death (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version) [for those who are religiously sensitive, see the Budokan Black Night 2014 version]
Onedari Daisakusen (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
Song 4 No Uta (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Uki Uki * Midnight (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Catch Me If You Can (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Live at Sonisphere 2014 version)
    Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
Road of Resistance (Legend 2015 New Year Fox Festival version)
    Karate (official MV)
Meta Taro (Five Fox Festival version)
    GJ! (Fox Festival 2017 version)
Sis Anger (Fox Festival 2017 version)
    Shanti Shanti Shanti (official MV)
    Pa Pa Ya!! (official MV)
    BxMxC (official MV)
    Metalizm (official MV)
    Metali!! (official MV)
I would include the links but, for some reason, TH-cam sometimes thinks I'm posting spam and will delete my comment. For the links, see the TH-cam playlist “BABYMETAL Top Twenty”; it is a mix of MV’s and live performances, is more or less in historical sequence, and could be considered a road map down the BABYMETAL foxhole. If nothing else, it can be used as a reference to find high quality versions of BABYMETAL songs without mucking about - if they are on the list. Anyway . . . .
Another recommendation (read "challenge"): react to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" and/or "Budokan Black Night" (2014). There are playlists for both on the HEAD123456 TH-cam channel. Both concerts are, in a word, incredible.
Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!)
Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall!)
    KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘
