First time viewer. What beautiful content. The clear skies , and foraging to arrange the urns was so peaceful and tranquil. I do have two grandogs ... French bulldogs names Diesel and Dozer. They are the heart of the family, so I can only imagine the pain of losing your sweet little friend.

Oh Bless, I've just watched and discovered your loss of Laffy. We were so sad to hear of your loss. It is so hard to say goodbye to our beloved fur babies. We lost of dear Milly last year at fifteen years and we still feel her loss everyday. It helps me to still talk to her when I enter the house and I feel her in the garden. May you find comfort in knowing that she lived her best life with you both. Sending warm hugs from NZ.

Good to hear that I’m not the only talking to animals! 🤣 I made a joke this morning as Justin and I were making the bed; that Laffy was under the blanket when really it was a pillow. He wasn’t allowed to sleep with us during the night but definitely had pre-bedtime or morning cuddles with us on it. His bowling ball body. 🤣
Hi Jeni and Justin, l am from Australia and love love your post, so sad to hear of Laffy's passing he was such a huge part of you both, I'm a bit embarrassed to say l cried for your loss. My son has a frenchie named Louis, whom l absolutely adore, and dogsit whenever l can, so l kind of grew attached to Laffy too.
Your home is amazing!! I absolutely love decorating in the french style.

Every breed has its own characteristics and charm and Frenchies definitely their own. The way they look definitely, how they wobbly a bit when they walk, and how they look up at you. 🙂 Thank you for your kind words. Means a lot. Give Louis a huge squeeze for us.

I'm so sorry for your loss with the same feeling when I lost my 15-year-old beloved dog to cancer. I grieved and felt a big void in my heart, 10 years passed sadness gone but memories still, sending a warm hugs to you both. I like to watch your VDO. it's cosy bright and unique at the same time. with love and support from Thailand.❤

I got a card from my vet that said I would meet my beloved dog across the rainbow bridge. When I picked up his cremated remains there was a rainbow in the sky that lasted for many hours....a sure sign that he is waiting for me. Laffy will be waiting for you too!

Floors are and living room are gorgeous. You seem better and your positive attitude I’m sure helps. Even though we’re supposed to have dominion over animals, I feel they do more for us than we for them!
Definitely on the mend and keeping my self as busy as possible but each day doesn’t go by without a good cry, Justin is better at compartmentalizing than I am. He hugs me tight and let’s me have my moment.
I hope it is getting easier for you both after the loss. Last year we lost two of our animals we had for 16 years just 6 months apart. It can be very hard and some people don't understand. After 6 months we did get other pets, but it takes time. Take care

Looks gorgeous Jeni and Justin! Yes any varnish will always make the look darker, even if it's "incolore". The way I have prevented this is by doing a wash with diluted white paint which doesn't change the color of the wood but when you put on a varnish afterwards it won't affect the color anymore. But I have to say I absolutely love the color of your floor now! Did you want it lighter then?
Thank you Marloes! Not too many changes but it feels FANTASTIC to have the floors fixed and that wall properly rendered! We’ll add more detail to room in the future. I loved the lighter color of the floors pre-varnish. Oh well. 🤣 (always learning) Hugs.
