Btw I just wanted to mention that when they completely shave down your teeth, they're called crowns. And there's a huge difference between crowns and veneers. (if anyone didn't know, so you should do huge research if you're interested in getting this done)
I really appreciate Tina’s transparency about old procedures she’s had and has had to redo. Like I knew what a blepharoplasty was, but I didn’t think you would need to maintain it 😳
@@kmariamvI think it's also natural to have to get it redone after some years. It's normal for the eyes and skin there to start sagging again after a a while because your skin changes with age. That's why people get it redone when they're older. I think that's the thing with almost all procedures/ plastic surgery if you want to maintain a certain look.
Even with rhinoplasty, it is not like breast implants that need replacing every 15 years, but it is quite common needing a revision down the line as everything settles, even with a good first result. No procedure is without risk and a completely permanent solution tbh, it's scary how it's not talked about though. We love a transparent queen.
I get it when it's a lifechanging makeover for someone, but so many online teens turn 18 and get the big shave-down and porcelain veneers. It is crazy to see how much the dentists take off for the first sets especially for such young clients, like they don't even think about how many more times they'll have to get them redone and what are they supoosed to be taking off of later? Plus much bigger risk of infections 😨 it's scary! I did appreciate Tina's dentist for not shaving her natural teeth under into tiny stubs!
It’s technically the same thing as the crowns you get for root canals and i sadly had to get one on a front tooth when i was 20 (i’m 24 now) so we can’t always keep our teeth
I fully agree, there is nothing like your original well maintained teeth, great dental hygiene and regular dentist visits, and you have to do that since you are a kid
Veneers and having teeth shaved down gives me the heebie jeebies, and i could never do it for cosmetics, but i appreciate that shes sharing it so other people can see what to expect. Its interesting!
They should not have to shave them down like that. They only need to shave down the front a bit to have something for the cement to grip onto. I still wish more people would just get braces before doing this though. There is still no going back.
I got my porcelain veneers in 1998 when I was 26 and I’m now 51! I think 2024 is my year to finally have them redone. The teeth themselves still look amazing but the gum recession is the giveaway. Maybe I’ll get 25 years out of the next set, too! Yours look gorgeous, Tina! Congrats!
@@mmiek796 he really did! At the time they were so brand new to market that they didn’t know exactly how long they’d last. I think it just depends on their expertise as well as how well you take care of your teeth. Even though I’ve moved across country since I had them done, I’ll go back to him to have them redone!
I think gum recession happens whether you get veneers or not. It is nice to hear that they lasted this long! I also heard there are many ways to reverse gum recession. :)
Registered dental assistant here: I really appreciate Tina being so vulnerable and transparent here! Veneers are a lot of work and a bit commitment. I’m guessing the people who had their teeth shaved down so much were getting crowns. I assist with about 3-5 crown procedures a week and those little “nubs” look like crown preps. Crowns are typically more stable but take away more tooth structure so the procedure is usually more intense. My patients are usually over 65 so they are looking for less maintenance and more stability. Veneers for sure take a special kind of dentist! Tina’s look fantastic!
I believe these are still veneer preps. Oftentimes during veneer prep, the interproximal enamel is also reduced, giving the appearance of crown preps. This is so that the technician can have more control over the size of the teeth in cases of slight crowding and provide a more aesthetic result as leaving the natural tooth in that area sometimes results in a demarcation that can be visible.
There definitely is some learning when it comes to altering your teeth and overall oral health. With today's standards of beauty, so many people feel like they need to get their teeth done when they really don't need it. You only have one set of teeth for the rest of your life so please take care of them.
and with veneers, usually they do NOT shave that much tooth off on the sides. it looks more like a semi-crown for the front two teeth instead of veneers.
Am I the only person whose really freaked out by this? Like people sacrifice the health of their actual teeth to have fake ones plastered over the top? Fair enough if you're really old and your teeth are needed a pick me up but people are having their perfectly healthy teeth shaved away for this! Love you Tina and appreciate your honesty and integrity as always but wish younger people would avoid this till older age.
This is genuinely the best video on the entire veneers process I've seen online. I appreciate you talking about your past composite veneers as well as showing what your prepped but not temped smile looks like, and some of the cons that are associated with veneers.
Hi guys! Just wanted to say please don't get veneers in your 20's. It's completely unnassasary because you will destroy your natural teeth. I know looks matter and stuff but having natural health teeth should be the most important. Also in my opinion little unperfections are what makes us interesting and not everyone needs perfect looking teeth. I really like Tina but veneers in your 20's is nothing you should promote in my opinion.
Your veneers look great! Glad you found a good dentist who didn’t ruin your natural teeth! Those TikTokers who get their teeth shaved to little nibs are NOT getting veneers, they are actually getting crowns! They’re being mislead or are misinformed about what veneers are. And crowns like that will lead to losing their teeth down the line 😬
lol I like that they gave you a plushie to hold onto… at my dentist appt they gave me a blanket because my anxiety made me shiver uncontrollably.. and I also like that you got your cavities cleaned up cuz I would have to make an appt for everything 🤦🏻♀️
My old dentist treated me so good and i have never had any failed procedures with them. I’m sadly an hour away now and can’t trust any other dentists 😭
It is amazing seeing these progresses in dental work. Ans the process that goes behind all these little details. All the time, work, money, commitment. Wow. Thank you for sharing!❤
I’ve always wondered what veneers were like. This explained a lot. Yours look amazing! It’s not something I would do, as I have very solid healthy teeth, and at my age I wouldn’t want to go through the whole process, I had enough complex teeth things done when I had braces for 5 years lol.
Personally, I am hating this fad of people getting veneers especially something permanent that you can never go back to your original teeth. I love you and your videos but I am not a fan of promoting this in general, though its good to see a video that shares honest opinions and that is what I like about your videos. Anyway, its just my opinion I wanted to share. Im really glad it worked for you, and they do look very nice and natural which I am glad as compared to seeing a lot of celebrities get fake looking teeth! :) But at least to young people who have healthy teeth don't do this or at least think it through when your older, there are lots of other options.
I agree. I had no choice but to get veneers. I'd chipped both front teeth at a young age, had composite fillings for over a decade but they chipped multiple times. My first set of veneers fell out after 3 years. It is a massive hit to the self-confidence to be unable to smile. I DO NOT recommend getting them done. My boyfriend got a porcelain veneers but not in Korean and it look so good too!! Kriss ai said that it will last between 10 to 15 years but with proper care and maintenance, they can last even longer.
Your new veneers look really good and your smile is beautiful! I used to like the charm with the bigger front teeth from before, but it is still really gorgeous now! Thank you for your transparency on the cons part. Most people online don't have this honesty and seem to only want to validate their choices, which makes other people think there's no bad side at all to these procedures, but there's always consequences. What mattes is if you think the pros outweight the cons for yourself.
I’m a fan of bigger teeth. My cousin has larger, square teeth and I call them bunny teeth but I adore them. My teeth are square but not as large. I think they’re cute! I couldn’t do this but I have crowns, so they’re similar. I’m happy you love your new smile!
I think it's important to know the difference between veneers and crowns. Those shark teeth are for crowns. If you're getting veneers, the dentist will only shave down a little bit of your tooth substance.
I am beyond happy for you. When my adult teeth came in, my enamel was incomplete. On top of that I had overcrowding and a narrow pallet. Taking braces off took off more enamel so while I was happy to finally have a good bite and straight teeth after years of work, I now had mottled teeth. The first time I was ever proud of my teeth was when I had them bonded, very similar to what you had previously other than mine didn't seem as thick and they tried to keep my natural length.
I got veneers about 18 years ago (I'm 48 now) and I'm overdue getting them done again but I really, really need to go and sort them out because I have black at the very top of my two front teeth, which I believe is something to do with the 'cement' they used at the time. I hope they can sort it out because it looks awful! I love that you showed us what your teeth looked during the procedure, it was fascinating! Love watching your content, by the way! x
4:22 The example you should of those tiktokers is that those are not veneers, those are crowns that they are getting without really understanding the impact of it. People call it 'TURKEY TEEH because of how unnaturally white and fake it looks. To simply explain. for crowns, the teeth get shaved down to lil stumps and the crown covers it fully. For Porcelain veneers, the teeth get shaved but minimally so the veneer fits well and doesn't look bulky. For composites, there is like super minimal to no shaving involved, however, these don't last long nor are they as sturdy as Porcelain. So my advice for people. always go to a reputed dentist to get Veneers and think/plan very carefully. If your teeth can be fixed with braces/Invisalign and teeth whitening then go for this, as you will achieve a very beautiful smile and will keep your natural teeth. As for Tina, your veneers came out absolutely fantastic, and the colour that you chose was spot on, if I spoke to you IRL then I'd probably think "Wow she has an absolutely amazing smile" instead of "Wow, she deffo had work done on her teeth"
I recommend braces instead of veneers but braces are also a lifetime commitment. Even if your braces are off you should wear your retainers every night before bed. However, it is more cost-effective and healthy. And last but not least you get a perfect bite with your braces. However, veneers could not help your perfect bite in some cases. I said braces instead of Invisalign cuz in many cases braces are more effective.
For cosmetics reason, I guess if one can or has the ability to maintain veneers, they could since this is a lifetime commitment. But if one's finances are just right and has a bit of extra here and there, it isn't really ideal to get your teeth done especially if your natural teeth are fine and healthy. If you're still young tho, please take care of your little pearls. Takes a lot of commitment, effort, and money to maintain once they're gone.
I was just discussing veneers with my dad the other dad (Neither of us want them but he really misunderstood what they are) so this is perfectly timed! The whole lifetime commitment thing has always bugged me about kpop idols getting veneers. Some of companies have them getting veneers really young and predebut, and I'm like okay fine if it's their own choice, or if the company is going to pay every ten years to get that maintained. But what if the idol flops and then they have to cover the growing costs themselves for the rest of their lives...
The people who prep their teeth into nubs are getting crowns not veneers. You should only get crowns if there's no way to save the teeth and a cap needs to be placed to preserve the life of the teeth. This happens when you get damaged nerves and require a root canal, or you get a crack in your teeth.
I have a cavity on my teeth and am scared of the dentist 😂 but after watching your video I think I need to commit a dental appointment and get my teeth done
I have a huge dental phobia so I am perfectly content with my uneven overbite teeth over veneers or implants (unless implants are absolutely needed). They look amazing on you though! Such a champ for going through this twice... :,) sending love
I Hope that you’ll reconsider it and maybe won’t do it, for the sake of your natural teeth. Veneers are still a lot for the teeth, cause every time you get them done, yoj have to reshave your healthy teeth Maybe social media will ever stop us from believing, that we’re not beautiful enough
appreciate the detailed & well done video, especially you discussing the cons, your experience and the commitment matters, especially the tooth and gum health matters a lot for such an extensive procedure, anyways you look very pretty,
my country (Georgia) has MANY problems but at least dentist costs are alright. what do you mean $700 to $2000 per tooth 😭 it costs $60-150 here. but then again i heard braces cost $3000-7000 in USA.... here it costs maximum $700.
So, the same as crowns. My dentist is such a perfectionist, my crown looks exactly like my real tooth did. I didn’t have that bulging at the gums at all. Even the temporary crown was perfect. I need to go back now but, I don’t have the money right now. I have hospital bills and ambulance bill, and lab bills from when I was sick last year. Started with Covid. 🥴
your teeth are beautiful - but honestly, before it was as well really beautiful, i mean without the veneers....i was shocked that you drill away healthy tooth substance for 10 % more perfection. the teeth are more sensitive because the shaping irritates the nerve so much. dear viewers - dont do this :O
One more day of appreciating my natural smile thank god i have best smile. Everyone asked me if i got anything done on them or not but its all natural. 😁
Came here to say 😅 composite veneers are carefully reversible when done as such! Porcelain veneers on the other hand are forever. And if a tooth goes bad, you're getting a screw next 😭 There are snap-ons that are custom made and you do not need to commit for life, I use those for work and exist with my quirky slightly overlapping teeth in my free time 😂
@@krystalynkersey and I'm old. Seeing young people do this makes me cringe. Natural teeth cost enough over the years. For anyone thinking of doing this .. please don't.
I love reading these comments. I got my veneers back in 2016 and I’ve been freaking out that I’ll need to have them redone sooner than later. I don’t have a lot of tooth left so I’d have to be a pirate or get an implant. I guess instead of saving for a new car, I should be saving for new teeth. 😁

I Hope that you’ll reconsider it and maybe won’t do it, for the sake of your natural teeth. Veneers are still a lot for the teeth, cause every time you get them done, yoj have to reshave your healthy teeth
Maybe social media will ever stop us from believing, that we’re not beautiful enough
appreciate the detailed & well done video,
especially you discussing the cons, your experience and the commitment matters,
especially the tooth and gum health matters a lot for such an extensive procedure,
anyways you look very pretty,
I'm starting my saving for veneers now after watching this video
In Holland veneers are from 300 to 500 p tooth it actually depends on the material
This was super interesting, thanks Tina!
they look gorgeous, and fit you very well.
My mom always says each tooth is worth a million dollars
my country (Georgia) has MANY problems but at least dentist costs are alright. what do you mean $700 to $2000 per tooth 😭 it costs $60-150 here. but then again i heard braces cost $3000-7000 in USA.... here it costs maximum $700.
It’s crazy how much teeth make a difference in how we look! Thank god mom paid for braces for me . ❤
Your skin is just amazing!
God whyyyy she had AMAZING teeth !
she had veneers before too
Tell me you didn't watch the video... lol
did you even watch the video before commenting?
They were veneers already and had to be replaced
Does shaving down the teeth so much makes the teeth feel sensitive to hot & cold drinks?
Important 🦷 tooth care! 💗🫶🏻 Thanks for helpful tips. 😺
That dentist is an artist for real
Beautifully done!
I love your new teeth! I also have to know where your white top/outfit is from, it looks so flirty and cute!
New upload! If Tina becomes a dentist, I would like some nice and cute blings on my teeth pls 😂
That would be my speciality haha walk out with sparkling teeth literally! 😆
I dont care if its extreme or not, no one is shaving my natural teeth 😟
You’re beautiful just the way you are. Thank you for sharing
They look very natural actually
Also, composite veneers look just like the acrylic nails application process lol
your teeth are beautiful - but honestly, before it was as well really beautiful, i mean without the veneers....i was shocked that you drill away healthy tooth substance for 10 % more perfection. the teeth are more sensitive because the shaping irritates the nerve so much. dear viewers - dont do this :O
Looks so good!!!
Thankfully, there are veneers now that barely shave your teeth, and they're very, very thin but very durable.
One more day of appreciating my natural smile thank god i have best smile. Everyone asked me if i got anything done on them or not but its all natural. 😁
your smile is beautiful either before or after^^
You will spend a fortune maintaining these for the rest of your life.
yes veneers are expensive
Came here to say 😅 composite veneers are carefully reversible when done as such! Porcelain veneers on the other hand are forever. And if a tooth goes bad, you're getting a screw next 😭 There are snap-ons that are custom made and you do not need to commit for life, I use those for work and exist with my quirky slightly overlapping teeth in my free time 😂
She literally talks about this in the video
And...
@@krystalynkersey and I'm old. Seeing young people do this makes me cringe. Natural teeth cost enough over the years. For anyone thinking of doing this .. please don't.
I would really like to know how much you paid to do this proceedure in korea
it is interesting they don't give you an XRay shield for your chest/neck
I love reading these comments. I got my veneers back in 2016 and I’ve been freaking out that I’ll need to have them redone sooner than later. I don’t have a lot of tooth left so I’d have to be a pirate or get an implant. I guess instead of saving for a new car, I should be saving for new teeth. 😁
The shape and the size everything is perfect
How much was it? I’ve been wanting to do veneers for the longest as I am extremely conscious of my teeth and smile as well 😢
Waw korea are seriously a next level :o! i have gum issue :(
Absolutely gorgeous 🍓🥂
Your skin looks beautiful. Can you share your updated routine?
They look so beautiful and suit your face well❤
But again a with Seoul medical guide , I hate how they don’t let you tell us the price of the whole procedure that’s a bummer
Love ❤️ how they look 👀 awesome Tina ❤❤❤
It’s way better now wow
