2025 Inside Business River Star Hall of Fame - Lady Fern's Native Plants

The Inside Business River Star Hall of Fame honors Lady Fern’s Native Plants for its significant contributions to wildlife habitat enhancement, pollution prevention, and community outreach. As Norfolk’s only native plant nursery, Lady Fern’s saves 27,000 gallons of municipal water annually with 1,800 gallons of cisterns. Co-owner Nicole Knudson also leads off-site conservation efforts, including a 350-foot shoreline restoration project. “We are really impressed with how a small business can make such a significant difference - on and off-site,” says Pam Boatwright, Program Manager.
