    This made my creative heart skip a beat. Oil paint, pastels, pastels with pan pastels, I need a new direction. This might be it. I need to find MY way. Thanks.

    Hi Rebecca! Stunning work! I do lots of sketching and painting but am a mere beginner at prints, just using a little Derwent kit. I so admire your patience and precision--such an accomplishment!

    Creative process and beautiful artistic vision, thank you for the understanding of your work and how complicated it can be. Simple design often is complex in nature. Your vision is amazing in understanding the outcome of your work.

      Hi Lynn, thank you for your comment and kind words about my artistic process. It's taken a long time to figure out some of these methods!

      I admire the process your artistic vision creates, I am grateful to have seen your work! Life is so rushed that few take the time to realize how art is created. I think most people love the finish work but rarely know how it began and all the time it took! Your years of experience ( trial and error is appreciated) etc...is worth so much!

    • @RebeccaVincentArt
      @RebeccaVincentArt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Lynn. You're right, it has taken years to develop this style! Are you an artist yourself?

      Rebecca I so wish I was an Artist! I am someone who loves art and plays at doing art. I have Scleroderma an Auto-immune disease and it limits my ability, energy etc. None the less I relax doing art and watching video's and seeing it! I really enjoy your's, your gentle voice and process is a video that takes me away and relaxes any tightness, stress and discomfort. Your art video is like yoga. Then I imagine my own scene as I love nature as well! :)

      Dear Lynn -- I taught arts/crafts for young people, special needs adults and seniors -- some with dementia/alzheimer's. You are already an artist!! You may want to read Julia Cameron's book, "The Artist's Way," for inspiration. Another good book is Drawing with the Right Side of the Brain. You may also enjoy books by SARK, like "Live Juicy." Her books are very colorful and uplifting. What mediums are you working in? There are so many ways to create art that you can do! Creating mandalas can also be very healing. Hope this encourages you to embrace yourself as an artist! My best wishes, Dianna

    Dear Rebecca, Your work reminds me of one of my favorite children's books, "The Little House," written and illustrated by Virginia Burton. I don't know if you've ever read it, but the love of the countryside is certainly present in this little book. Have a good week!

    • @RebeccaVincentArt
      @RebeccaVincentArt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment, Dianna. I don't know that particular book but contemporary children's illustration has been a major influence for me.

    • @louisaellingham602
      @louisaellingham602 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know that book well...I believe Burton's illustrations were paintings, but yes, they do have the look of prints! She said: "If the page is well drawn and finely designed, the child reader will acquire a sense of good design which will lead to an appreciation of beauty and the development of good taste."

      @RebeccaVincentArt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for this comment. I've checked out her work and can see what you mean. I totally agree with the quote - I bought my own children the most beautifully illustrated books I could find! It helped when reading them over and over!

    Your work is phenomenal! I love how you create all these layers of color and texture. It is like the creation of layers of an onion -- a colorful and unique one. It looks like a very meditative process for you too. There should be a book published about your work.

      Hi Dianna, thanks for your three messages today. It's wonderful to hear your response to my work and appreciation of the process. It's taken many years of experimentation and failure to find my own unique style. Sometimes I wish I'd done something easier but when I hear such great feedback I know my efforts have been worthwhile. Lots more on my website www.rebecca-vincent.co.uk

    • @diannadiatz1140
      @diannadiatz1140 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have extraordinary patience and persistence. I think videos show people the process an artist goes through to create their work. My own career as a visual and performing artist has constantly evolved and changed. And there are no "failures," just stuff that doesn't always work the way we expected it to. But that is sort of like life, different learning experiences. What we might think is the worst thing, might be the catalyst for growth and better things in our life or art. I hope you can find a publisher (or self-publish) to showcase your work and your story. Have a good weekend!!

    • @diannadiatz1140

      Was just checking your website. Beautifully designed and photographed. Are the strips of paper textures from wall paper samples? I like the color sample test strips and squares. They would make a great pattern for a long silk scarf! I can also see some of your images as scarves or "cameo" style pins or pendants. Best wishes, Dianna

    Also the majority of my printmaking classes were serigraphy and intaglio, but monoprinting and monotypes were my favorite ❤️ I miss being able to have access to all the equipment. Your work is beautiful. Do you have a website? 💕

    In this one I believe I heard u say “damp paper” . In another video of yours I didn’t hear u say that. Wetting the paper (damp) is how I learned to do it too. What paper are you using? BFK Rives?

    • @RebeccaVincentArt

      Yes, I nearly always wet and blot the paper. Yes it's BFK Rives.

    RV, colors are exquisite! As are gestural marks. Am facinated by layers, multiple techniques. What r the giant texture dobbers made of; what paper are u using for the inked & texture masks; how do u get the texture in those pieces? Also do u mix yr inks w anything? TY!

    • @RebeccaVincentArt
      @RebeccaVincentArt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bunny, thank you for your interest in my process. You can purchase a dabber in a specialist printmaking store. In the UK it would be Intaglio Printmaker. The inks are just as they come out of the cans. The stencils and textured materials are a wide variety of found materials. Just start experimenting and find out what happens! I'll be making some teaching videos in the future if you want to sign up to my list www.rebecca-vincent.co.uk/join-my-list

    Aren't monotype and monoprints different?

    • @RebeccaVincentArt
      @RebeccaVincentArt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they are but sometimes my followers use the name monoprint. I use this description of the difference:
      A monotype is one printed image which does not have any form of matrix. On the other hand, a monoprint has some form of basic matrix such as an etching plate that is repeated in different variations. Each one is unique but there are some repeated elements.
