when you say last 20 years ~ 1998 and Still Life by Opeth was released in 1999 so it’s not totally the best but totally up there with the best albums of the last 20 years !
I was a casual fan, but their latest album is terrible. Along with Robb doing the whole "if you don't believe what I do you are a nazi" thing, I'm not gonna lose any sleep over this.
Yea I didn't mind the new album at first, but one time when walking around listening to music and one (don't remember which one) came up and I just went in my head "what the fuck is this?!"
Yeah people should probably keep an eye on Rob over the coming weeks, we've lost too many great musicians over the last 2 years or so. sad news MH were a great band.
They've put out over half a dozen records, and they are always solid in delivering worthy quality clean metal. They outdid themselves time and time again melodically. Truly a special band. My favorite will always be The More Things Change, but evolution was kind to them. The Burning Red had to grow on fans because everyone thought they may have slowed down, but it has so much unique but true to Machine Head material on it. They went crazier heavy each album after that nearly thrashing, but they still kept their signature hooks and melodics, so I followed them each record and saw them live probably at least half a dozens times since original Ozzfest days.
Go Woke Go Broke. The political nonsense killed the band and Rob was behind it. He has himself to blame. The lastest video was anti right wing was so cringy. If you are going to be political at least be tactful. Don't wear your belief on your sleeves folks.....
Slayer and now Machinehead. Metal fans are probably the most difficult to appease. These bands have been doing what they do for years...heart and soul. Keeping fans ecstatic! Much respect to those guys and also their families and friends for helping with support. We love you all. And maybe we'll see these great talents produce more of what we love. Take care!
It's incredible. Everything gone wrong so quick. Machine head has the best riffwriting I've ever heard. Even if the whole songs aren't the best. From the great start up of burn my eyes, the more things changed and the burning red over the lowest point of supercharger, the wake up on through the Ashes of empires and the blackening. Unto the locust, bloodstone and diamonds and catharsis were good as well. As a guitarists, I really like their leads too. Yeah, that's everything, have a rotten day and bye RIP machine fuckin head
Rob respect for Honesty and admiting a mistake, It' s a big thing ! Hope you 'll get a peace between each other with Phil and Dave, God bless You all !
I've been listening to Machine Head since 2000 but I really didn't become passionate about them until after The Blackening was released. Unto The Locust lost me on the band for a little while until Bloodstones And Diamonds came out. After that, they became on of my favorite metal bands of the past two decades. But then they fell off for me once Robb started pushing his politics on everyone. Even if I had agreed with him on most of it, it still would've bothered me as a fan. The fact that I don't agree with a lot of what he's said nearly ruined the band for me. With the release of Catharsis, I felt alienated as a fan. Aside from the title track, which I didn't care for, I haven't listened to that album because of the road he's taken the band on. I respect his right to his own opinion, for holding steadfast to his beliefs/convictions, and for wanting to try and do something to make the world a better place. For me, what he was doing with the band before Catharsis was all that I wanted or needed from him in that regard. But it's made it difficult for me to enjoy the band. In fact, it was only recently I could go back and enjoy their discography because I couldn't listen to any of it for nearly a year. I have no ill feels towards him nor do I wish anything negative towards him. I wish the band didn't have to disband. Maybe after some time off and working on himself for awhile him and all of the others in the band will be in a better place and can return just as strong as they've been in the past, if not stronger. It's a sad day in metal for sure.
Nothing but respect. Keeping it real, owning your actions, being a man about it, and being honest. Good to see that. Respect to these guys. It's a shame it has to happen, but at least it isn't ugly. When it comes down to it, your life is more important than the band. You gotta do what you gotta do. Hope for all the best for these guys.
Rob flynn is one of the best frontmen in metal and should of known to have kept machinehead away from politics and all that bollox! It ruins everything
Guess Robb’s PC and SJW agenda and strangle hold of the creative process didn’t work out too well in the long run huh? Hard to believe this is the same band that released The Blackening a few albums ago after this last album.
Okay, to anyone who blames Rob for this. See the big pictire here- How long has this man, dedicated himself to this, legendary band thats prolly older than half the people commenting on this video. It's all the guy knows, he has kept this drive, this band, this empire rolling for almost- 30 years now?
I haven't been a real big fan of Robb lately in the past 2 years but I'm disappointed MH is breaking up. I really give the guy props for admitting to some of his faults, I actually have to give him some points of respect back.
What do you mean a sad day? This is the best news I’ve ever had come across my feed! This means the band doesn’t have to work with someone like Rob Flynn who has their head so far up his ass his farts give him a buzz.
Machine head was the first metal concert I ever saw way back in 2000. It was a small outdoor festival in Huntington, WV and after the show they were just hanging out with the fans outside their bus and just shot the shit for about 30 minutes it’s fans. It was is my most memorable experience from high school. Sad day ladies and gentlemen.
Maybe the best way for now. He needs to learn to be tolerant, patient & appreciative of his bandmates & fans. The stage is meant to play music that they're famous for & not a political one.

It’s been a very emotional 48 hours, and I very well could have said that weird on Facebook Live - or not as good as I could have." - Robb Flynn

I hope Robb can work through his demons and come out of this a stronger person. I've been a Machine Head fan from the moment their first album dropped and had the pleasure of seeing them at Donington in 1995.
Never crazy about Machine Head in the first place, A-OK alright but that is key. He didn't just rip Phil. He ripped Pantera. Hopefully Robb winds up a homeless musician for shitting in the house Pantera built.
What are you talking about? He was defending principles against the blatant unambiguous gestuee Phil made. And that's irrelevant to why this breakup happened. The latest album was just awful and politically cheesy.
I give Rob credit for taking the high road, for standing by (and behind) Phil and Dave and for accepting his part of the responsibility for this. Great band - I hope they figure their stuff out and get back together.
Rob controlled everything. Right down to what everyone was gonna wear. I can see where that would get old. Then add his far left lyrics on the latest album. Those guys just wanna rock not be controlled like puppets.
I'm glad Robb admitted to his issues. He has a lot of anger, rage, pride and ego more than the average rockstar. This is why Phil Demmel left Machine Head. Trust me, I met Robb for a vip meet and greet and I have to say he's not exactly the nicest person.
I'm guessing a lot of decisions about the newest album were made by Rob and didn't take much advice from bandmates, and after all the shit MH had to take because of it, most of us saw it coming. MH for me is one of the bands I grew listening to, and I'm sad about what's happened. It could've been a lot worse sometime in the past, but again, after recent events it was to be expected.
Nooooooooooooo!!!!!! I really need to see this band now! Been on my concert bucket list forever. :( good luck in your future endeavors. MH will always be in my heart. Don't quit Flynn!!!
It makes sense for this to happen. Because when Catharsis came out I couldn’t listen to a whole song at all except Beyond The Pale And California Is Bleeding. That was it. It was just a terrible record. It’s not machine head. Nothing will ever match the songs like Locust, Game Over, Aesthetics Of Hate, Imperium, etc. those songs were just incredible and I don’t see how any other band can make any songs better than those
Ahh man this really sucks! I hope things turn around soon. Maybe they just need a good break, time off. Love you Robb, you have given me countless nights of amazingly emotional epic nights watching y’all kill it live. If y’all never tour again, this is something I will miss the fuck out of. Y’all are one of, if not my favorite like metal act. Love you guys.
I thought TMTC was such a disappointment after BME,so for me anything after the 1st album is bollocks. And how can people compare MH to Pantera, Pantera blow them off this planet.
Machine head was the first metal concert I ever saw way back in 2000. It was a small outdoor festival in Huntington, WV and after the show they were just hanging out with the fans outside their bus and just shot the shit for about 30 minutes with us. Sad day ladies and gentlemen.
This is absolutely heartbreaking! MH has been My all time favorite band for years. All very talented people! I think Rob handled this very maturely, and wish the whole band happiness, and more success ✌🙏
Crap!! I went to sabbath's this is the end at ozzfest meets knoatfest 2016 and then I was at slayers farewell at Irvine 5 points. Pantera has been gone for 17 years no more hell ya since vinnie died. Crap!! What is happening to metal??
@Iván Salvatore still, all these bands, as great as they are are nothing even remotely close to the glory of a Maiden, Metallica or anything else in terms of notoriety. This is why im scared that Metal is fading into something that ressembles that of an electronic subgenre. Where there are countless thousands of beatmakers making just the same shit, and never being original in any way shape or form. Metal for the last few years (since 2015) has been very stale and boring for the most part. Rare are the bands doing anything incredibly mindblowingly awesome anymore. In any subgenre except for maybe Leprous cos they arrived with a clear new concept.
maybe you should watch for newer bands people aren't giving much chance to. Metal isn't dying, metal has been over populated with bands like this which people only pay attention to. Metal isn't dying, it's making room for us newer bands which deserve a chance to be finally seen. Doors are opening for us younger bands.
Had the pleasure of seeing them live in manchester united kingdom,it was one of the best and loudest giggs i have ever been too, amazing front man, amazing band, gutted.

For me his attack on Phillip Anselmo and Pantera ruined Machine Head.
Jason Lagud phil deserved it. Fuck him!
Robb was just saying it like is.
Not that I like his music. For the record I'd even take a lot of metalcore bands over his metal band.
If only this was the last we hear of Rob sjw Flynn but with an ego like his he needs to be heard.
Just saw you guys last night, thanks for the music. Rock on!
another prime example of GET WOKE, GO BROKE!
I love when heavy metal artists are nice guys. Most people assume they are angry uncontrollable assholes but Robb Flynn proves that wrong
The broke up... For few months
He wants to be Phil Anselmo so bad lol, unlucky buddy, you're not even Phil Anselmo Lite.
That's true, just as well because Phil Anselmo is a racist!
I always assumed they broke up 15 years ago! The music made me think that
This video aged well. Lol
Nooooooooooooo!!!!!! I really need to see this band now! Been on my concert bucket list forever. :( good luck in your future endeavors. MH will always be in my heart. Don't quit Flynn!!!
Oh man... that's a damn shame... it's been a while since I've listened to Machine Head. Guess I'll listen to them again...
Oh, man. Our initials...
How about a Vio-lence reunion now?!
I will say the last album was terrible. The one before it was so-so. So maybe it was time.
Machine have been my favourite band since Burn My Eyes came out....I'm so gutted by this. Why are there so many "thumbs up"??? It's not a good thing.
Noooo NOOO 😢
Any true fan would have known this day was coming soon........but a true fan will also say they will be missed especially LIVE !!!!!!!
First 2 albums were good .. rest sucked so couldn’t care less... this isn’t Pantera
I thought TMTC was such a disappointment after BME,so for me anything after the 1st album is bollocks. And how can people compare MH to Pantera, Pantera blow them off this planet.
But everything Pantera ever did sucked.
This is the saddest thing to start the day with. I’m heading to an interview. I’m crying.
Trump curse strikes again
Machine head was the first metal concert I ever saw way back in 2000. It was a small outdoor festival in Huntington, WV and after the show they were just hanging out with the fans outside their bus and just shot the shit for about 30 minutes with us. Sad day ladies and gentlemen.
The way he talks reminds me of Phil Anselmo
No.. no, he doesn't.
first of all, he talks at least two times faster than phil and second, phil has a much deeper tone.
Yeah, are Rob and Phil from the same part of the US?
@@RitchieRosson Rob is from Oakland, California.. Phil comes from New Orleans
They are both asses
This is absolutely heartbreaking! MH has been My all time favorite band for years. All very talented people! I think Rob handled this very maturely, and wish the whole band happiness, and more success ✌🙏
I’ve been a machinehead fan from day one !! They only got better with every album they made !! This is a terrible day indeed! Damnit this sucks
Bring back VIO-LENCE , ROBB
They became a political correctness band. Shame to see them fall to this
So sad to hear. Unfortunately, it became The Robb Flynn Show... Right after their second album. Never the same since then... 🙁
Crap!! I went to sabbath's this is the end at ozzfest meets knoatfest 2016 and then I was at slayers farewell at Irvine 5 points. Pantera has been gone for 17 years no more hell ya since vinnie died. Crap!! What is happening to metal??
Michael Coffman Metal is fading away we need to stick together and keep it alive
@Iván Salvatore Well Said 👏👏👏👏
@Iván Salvatore still, all these bands, as great as they are are nothing even remotely close to the glory of a Maiden, Metallica or anything else in terms of notoriety.
