Kershaw made a small hatchet like the Mini, but once I started to search the website, I couldn't find it. I know I have one in my truck, and it works very well for most all the tasks demonstrated. That's why it's in my truck lol.....I'll try to find out what the model is. Great little tool.
I have the Kershaw Deschutes Axe and while I really like it, it not a serious wood harvesting axe or splitting wood. Its mostly good for small kindling, and tactical use. It does look cool on my plate carrier though lol
@@SeanMurphy00 if it's on your plate carrier, you likely don't have it for chopping down trees LOL! I'm sure it'll do for self-defense and counterattack quite nicely. All that being said, one tends to make do with what they have to accomplish the task at hand. 'Nuff said.
The question is “how well will it hold a sharp edge after a lot of use”?? My experience with that grade of Stainless steel isn’t the best for a long duration.
A little pricey, but I love the functionality of them both, but myself I would only carry the larger one, matter of fact I would purchase two, one for my two main packs.
80 bucks for this?! A good German made hatched of the same size with wooden, plastic or full matal handle is less than HALF the price of this and probably just as or even more durable as well, and I can get a medium sized crow bar for 10 bucks at the hardware store in addition to that. Why would I buy this one?
Why does everyone always want to throw their defense tool away? Never throw a weapon at someone who will just laugh at you as they duck, then pick up that weapon and use it on you. Stop playing Rambo
Maybe this is a good option for the money but if you have the money check out the Gerber Downrange Tomahawk... its American made and if you are in a situation where you need a "tactical" Tomahawk you are going to want one that stands up to the task. If this is all you can afford then get it but if you want the real deal check out the Gerber USA Tomahawk because it's a bad ass piece of equipment.

I prefer either estwing or fiskars. Good pricing on both and have been around for years…
Bought the /Mini last night, looking forward to adding this to my pack. Thanks for the great review Sootch.
Thank You Sootch! I was looking for a new hatchet to replace my old Eagle Scout. Full tang steel trumps Oak. Thanks again for the review.
Very cool this Canadian needs one. God bless America and beloved 45!!
Soon to be 47

I like the fortitude 2, I carry it daily now, sure wish it had thicker steel though, or maybe a fortitude 3 slightly bigger.
Olight, Obuy, Ohachet, Oshit,,Ofck....O'MG
Looks pretty interesting and I don’t have a hatchet. I think I’ll pick one up.
I wish I was able to get that 10%.
I Got The multifunction Hatchet is awesome good for my bug out bag!! Orange color
Sharp as well!
The mini's handle looks a little to short. I'd go with the big one.
Bought one last month. Haven't had much opportunity to use it yet, though.

I like this for camping

Weight.
@@jawalakhel4606 This thing is not lighter than cheaper alternatives. This doesn’t justify these high O-Light prices, just like their flashlights.
Wow
Is ot balanced for throwing
Imo, probably not. the hammer in back and shape of the blade seem counter intuitive to a good throwing ax

Get a silky hatchet. Been using it years, it’s quality. These are cheap.
You should check out Hardcore Hammers. Their survival hatchet is awesome.
Then why watch the video and take the time to leave a comment? Lame.
@@homie-gtv322because he’s wanting one and knows it’s a good deal. Or small penis. Maybe both. Idk who knows
