    Had the enormous privilege to hear Jessye Norman sing in the early nineties. She was magnificent. May she rest in eternal glory.

    What a great personality! Even if she is just speaking she is philosophical, intellectual and deeply emotional. She was pure art and an inspiration even if she was just talking... wisdom and beauty was a constant part of her.

    For an outstanding interview with Jessye Norman, see her with Elinor Wahktel of the CBC in Toronto. Ms Norman is there to accept the musician humanitarian award with the Glenn Gould foundation.

    "Wagner is not yet played in Israel" is not true. And starting an interview with that remark is like throwing Jessye a hot cup of tea in her face and blame it on her that she even sings his music.

    • @ternitamas
      @ternitamas 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      she has nothing to do with Wagner not being played in Israel, so it was truly a stupid remark and very disrespectful, music is music, politics should be left aside

    QUe pena que una gran exponente de Wagner... No haya podido decir nada... De el... Por restricciones ... NO CULTURALES... Mas bien politicas.

    • @Altonahh10
      @Altonahh10 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not being Jewish and not having lost relatives in WW II I cannot judge how it feels to listen to Wagner. And maybe Wagner`s beautiful music cannot be seen independently from his theoretical work which is really shocking and full of bizarre and racist ideas.
