For me it has to be the Moto G Power, I need that battery life, tired of having to charge up during the day. I also believe that Motorola would be better with the updates from my experience with them in the past, plus the Moto must be more optimized, it has 25 percent larger battery but runs 150 Percent longer.

I completely agree, maybe in a generation or two TCL will be better but I'm probably going to get the Motorola. Also no point in the extra 2gb ram when it has a budget soc anyway, the bigger battery is more useful.

G7 is better- Both the Moto G7 and G7 Power share a similar design aesthetic, with the main difference being the cutout at the top of the display. ... The G7 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage as standard, and the G7 Power has a more modest 3GB/32GB configuration.Mar 6, 2020

Thank you! Considering TCL because I've owned 2 Motorolas and had issues with the "basics": volume adjusting on its own, no sound notifications for some texts, some phone calls sounding slightly muffled. I'm not a heavy user, so the basics carry greater weight. Thank you again!

I have had two Moto phones over the past few years. Batteries have just poop out. Just pick up the TCL 10L, came with a case and screen protector already on it. Has FM radio. And a lot of nice features. Super Bluetooth, which I'm playing with, 4 connections at once. I really like the TCL, but only time will tell.

Found a couple surprising things when comparing these on GSMArena: The Moto G Power doesn't have a compass apparently (Google Maps works normally and Pokémon Go works, so nothing worrying yet) and the TCL is missing a couple LTE bands, notably band 71.
Both phones look great, personally went with the G Power and am liking it so far.

I'm gun shy going with TCL now after having owned BlackBerry's from TCL/BBMo, plus the rear design has little appeal to me. Having owned the Moto G7 for awhile love almost everything about it (Moto Actions, UI, design, etc) but the battery falls short. That is why I just purchased (on the way) the Moto G Power being pretty sure there'll be no regrets, that 5000 mAh is gonna be awesome. At this point and time Motorola has captured my attention, even fairing a bit better in the update support department than my other devices that cost 3-4 times more.

You can make cheaper 128gb but it's hard to make high quality 32 GB ram.. that's why I love iphone. And here the mogo g power seems it has better building materials. My first Moto was the Moto G3. The thing that I love is the Moto Actions which easily enable various functions like flashlight, camera etc. with just a twist of the wrist and chop. Couple years ago I picked up the G6 Play which I love because of the 4,000 Mah battery. Now enter the G (8) Power and the 5,000 Mah battery. The G series has always held their own for less than half the cost of the more well known Iphones, Samsungs etc. Do not need to upgrade to the G Power but I may just do it anyways lol

Motorola no NFC so no payments. TCL has NFC but 4000mah battery compared to Motorola 5000mah. At the same time TCL has 6GB of RAM compared to 4GB of Motorola. The video quality on the TCL is far superior to that of Motorola. I have tried videos on both of them side by side. I'd say TCL is more future proof than the Motorola just alone on the RAM size.

T-Mobile Users should note, the TCL 10 does not have an on-board LTE Band 71 (600mHz frequency) radio, whereas the line of Moto G phones do. This means the Moto G phones on T-Mobile's network will get better building penetration and wider coverage. Also note that neither phone includes 5g radios, not a huge deal in 2020 but could become a factor in 2021 as 5g networks become more prominent and T-Mobile implements the 5g Band C (that no phone currently supports including the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra).

Love the big battery of G8, but found out G8 doesn't support Miracast, so can only cast to TV with Chromecast, which requires a router. I can't cast since I have no router, I use my unlimited mobile data instead of wasting hundreds of $ per year on internet provider. Was able to cast with old phone that supports Miracast with Netgear Push2TV. Wish Chromecast didn't require a router, stupid limitation. Returning it for a phone that supports Miracast. Why not support Miracast? Ha! Google acquired Motorola in 2015. So requiring Google Chromecast to be able to cast to TV forces G8 users to buy Chromecast. What a surprise!

I just bought the MOTO G8 Power last week unlocked GSM, on Amazon for $139.99.
Initially, I was going to go with the Samsung A21 or something along those lines, but when I saw the G8 Power advertised for $139 I COULD NOT pass it up.
And I am very happy I did. I'm super pleased with this device and recommend it to just about anyone looking for a great phone but don't want to spend flagship prices.
$139 is a STEAL for this device.
(BTW, my Moto G8 Power that I got for $139 is a brand new unit, NOT a refurb... And it is the 2020 model....NOT the 2021). 👍🏼
Also, even though I snagged it for $139...I would still recommend it even if it was priced up to $250. It's THAT good for that price.

For many tests there won't be a difference, but when it comes to switching between apps, TCL won't need to reload (or even relaunch) apps from the storage as often as Moto. Also note that new apps keep needing more and more memory so in 2-3 years the difference in RAM between the two may be much more important.

Awesome video, I've been looking for that comparison review !
    Now I.M.H.O;
*Motorola* has three other product categories (the Moto E, Moto One series, and Moto Z series) and all of them are only set to receive one year of OS updates (The "One Zoom" global is out of the Android One program which guarantees 3 years of updates), they tend to stick to the clean, no skins, no bloatware dogma of Google Pixel's and OnePlus etc, but there's no explicit warranty they will keep updating and polishing the OS for this devices, sounding they came out with Android 10, they may stay with it for the rest of their lifecycles
*TLC* has confirmed as well that the 10L and the "PRO" version will only have one year of "security updates and one major OS upgrade" , being these phones their first real attempt into the battleground by themselves, I consider this a wrong move since they are aiming at a very crowded and competitive mid end segment !
I would like to try the TLC phone and see if they start releasing updates to fix all the glitches and annoying issues seen by all reviewers here in TH-cam, it's a promising device with potential to stablish a strong position for them, ONLY IF WELL PLAYED AND MAINTAINED!

I believe the Motorola still a better phone especially when you’re thinking about battery life , as far as the cameras I don’t think the average person is being hired by Vogue magazine to do a spread, I have a MacBook Pro and iMac And iPad. I don’t have an iPhone. After you’ve had several phones do you know that battery is my most important things

Still gonna be the Motorola for me. I just can't pass up 5000mAh at this price point.
Edit: I received the Moto G Power about a week ago. Love the battery life so far. Getting almost two full days on a single charge (and I only charge up to 80% to extend longevity), and I'm a really heavy user. I'll admit I wish it had an OLED display and a metal frame like my old Nexus 6 that it replaces, but the Nexus was a flagship, and this is a budget phone. Otherwise this phone is great, and I feel like it'll last me the 5+ years that my Nexus did, though it'll be hard to resist the urge to upgrade to a more premium phone for that long, lol.

This is just the first generation of TCL phones, Moto has been in the biz for decades. And already TCL is matching the Motorola in several categories.
Wait till TCL gets their Ass in shape for their next launch, they will go back and add dual speakers, a bigger battery and probably even higher rez screen.
TCL out to kick Motorola's butt !
If I were Motorola, I'd be quaking in my knees right now.
If they're successful, their next aim 2-3 years will be Samsung and Apple, maybe in less time if they're successful.
Now you see why Trump wanted to sink Huawei bc the Chinese phone companies will dominate the global market. They will leave Samsung in the dust in prob another 3 years max.
