That transient tightening trick was one of the first things I accidentally discovered in ableton. It's something I've missed since changing to bitwig. But knowing I can just drag things across is a absolute game changer!!

It’s so wonderful being able to use Ableton as a quick tool for what it’s good at and then bring it all back home to Bitwig
Using groups excessively but never used it to bounce down the whole group. Think this is really a great way to get the focus on the bigger picture for mixing. Thanks for pointing me there 🌻

So glad it was helpful! I love the look of a minimal project file but I love it even more knowing the full complexity is safely nestled away :)
@ hehe yes, I can't as well let go all the original stuff and try to safe them as long as I can, even I know very well, that decisions are so much important to make. In a psychological and as well in a technical way.
Great tips! Just thought I'd mention that I've been having that same issue with 4.3 with Bitwig audio engine not 'properly' crashing as well. Seems to happen when I turn off my audio interface, normally the audio engine process should automatically stop but it doesn't anymore with 4.3. A quicker workaround that I found is to right click on the dark transport area and chose terminate process, then activate the audio engine again. Saves a few clicks versus going into the audio settings.
- To restart the audio engine you can also change the sample size (this work also on Windows with ASIO) or simply right click on the CPU icon and select "Deactivate for this project". - For my experience, when Bitwig crash is always caused by an external VST. I've made a couple of projects using only Bitwig internal devices and i never had a single issue. Maybe is just luck :p

Bitwig is indeed INCREDIBLY stable when running just native devices. What a joy on CPU usage too 🥰
Really useful tips on a couple of them. Love your style btw. Have you delved in to the clip launcher Much? For me, it’s what drew me to Live all those years ago and also Bitwig. Playing the clips into an arrangement via MIDI is frickin’ awesome!!!!
Another great lifehack for renaming tons of clips at once. Name each track whatever you'd like. Then highlight all clips you'd like to change and simply delete the name. The clips will then adopt the track name with #1,#2,#3 at the end. I find this incredibly useful so I don't have to go in and rename everything individually.

Love this! Also highlighting all clips and renaming as a single SPACE means you can easily have no names on clips if, like me, you like the look of solid colour blocks on a timeline :)
Not only was this an informative video, but it was exhilarating as well. I was at the edge of my seat when I saw the low battery notification. The precious M1 Macbook about to take a nap? We can't have that. How did Tâches deal with this situation, you ask? Well, I'm not going to spoil anything, so it's best if you watch the video for yourself.
Also you probably know this but for those of us that do not have ableton, you can do the transient mode in Bitwig by choosing either of the Stretch modes, picking your desired size, clicking the little speaker icon below and picking the onset mode. This is not quite as smooth and easy as the transient slider in ableton but it gets the job done in a pinch.

Funnily enough, I made my first video on this topic :) th-cam.com/video/MdkxOsnTagw/w-d-xo.html
I made some presets in Devious Machines Duck that gets very close to the transient shaping trick, I think Ableton is just using volume envelopes for that. I also missed that feature so hopefully this helps others.
I googled how the Iatest Sonoma looks like and I guess it's just the default topbar with the clock. Thought you have installed some crazy Windows lookalike theme as it looked like old-school Microsoft Windows 95 to me, dunno where Apple is going with that 😂
Thanks tache, very useful videos. I'm in the process of switching from ableton to bitwig and i couldn't find a shortcut on how to vertically zoom specific tracks in the arrangment view. Let's say i have bounced into place audio and i want to zoom vertically. Do you have maybe a tip or the shortcut / key combination?
I would welcome videos on JACK esp now that reWire is gone … I do LOVE BitWig but still use LIVE and LOGIC, too …interesting tip about the drag and drop audio…similarly we can also just open Ableton project files in Bitwig but *not* the other way around
Hi Tâches! Great video but I have an unrelated question. Do you still have the Linnstrument? That livestream you did with it was really cool. If so are you going to do anymore videos demonstrating your Linnstrument in conjunction with Bitwig? I'm super interested in one as I'm a guitar player who is quite awful at keyboard, and the pads on a Launchpad just aren't cutting it. Thanks!
Would be nice if it were possible to view selected tracks from different groups. So, in your example, if we're only viewing the drum track Group, but you want to see what a bass track is doing, it would be nice to somehow see both exclusively....
2 ปีที่แล้ว +1
If you make a group of both Drums & Bass, you can then go into that group and see both sub groups within :)
I don't think you need to bounce a loop before dragging it from the timeline to the convolution because bitwig bounces it into the convolution from what its playing on the time line.
So if you right click on the blue DSP meter in the top menu just right of the transport/automation buttons, then you can choose to deactivate the audio, thus ending your audio glitch.
Very, very happy you are back on YT, it's been too long, love your teaching and looking forward to the next ones !
Awww thank you! It feels good to be back. Here's to many more fun sonic experiments in the near future :)
Just got my Bitwig a couple of days ago. Your video and community in the comments are accelerating my learning by a lot. Thank you guys
The Ableton/Bitwig stems compatibility was mind-blowing! Thanks for sharing this!
The dry/ trick i used to use was a delay at the smallest interval and then put the effect on the delay but your method is much better thanks
This is my fav channel on YT hands down. Or hands in the air or wherever!!

Taches the Bitwig Guru! Love that Ableton transients one pal, the drop and drag makes it less arsey haha!

Damn, I had no idea about that 2-level Ctrl+A. That's pretty smart, indeed! :)
Bloody Bitwig - always one step ahead of the curve :)
Nice Daw, I'm looking into it...
thank you! i use the ten tips and tricks you showcased in your last video all the time. thank you!
Awww I’m so glad! Thanks for watching 🙏
I love that I'm still learning things about this software. Excellent video.
I hope you make more Bitwig videos!
Props to your teaching method. I prefer your teaching style to Polarity (though I do like him). Thank you for imparting your knowledge.
These are so helpful thankyou please keep these coming. ❤️❤️❤️
thank you for video! glad your back your bitwig videos have been really helpful.
Awww thank you friend! Glad to be back 🙏
great tips for this awesome DAW! thanks for the video :)
you can do the same dry wet knob in ableton within groups, just takes another step or two.
Awesome video thanks! That master group content bounce to audio tip is my fav! Can’t wait to use it :)
convultion is amazing! thanks for your work here
The dry/wet knob was brilliant and inspired!!! Now I don't have to use Waves Studio Rack to do parallel channels for their plugs. So much better. :)
love your videos bud :) Tip: you can right click the DSP performance graph icon on the left side of the bpm and deactivate the audio engine.
Cool, thanks for the video, very useful tips. More videos like this.

Thank you friend :) I'm so glad!
Love the tips!
I wish Bitwig had more warp modes but thankfully I have both DAWs. Great video as always.

thanks mate good vid
Great videos! Big thanks. What the heck is that windows 3.11 top bar?
You’re welcome! What do you mean?
I googled how the Iatest Sonoma looks like and I guess it's just the default topbar with the clock. Thought you have installed some crazy Windows lookalike theme as it looked like old-school Microsoft Windows 95 to me, dunno where Apple is going with that 😂
Thank you this was very helpful, coming from fl 😅
Glad it helped!
You genius bro

boom! sweet tips!
Great vid as always mate. that select all on one track only is going to save me a tonne of clicks!
out of curiosity, which M1 spec Mac did you go for?
Hi Tâches! Great video but I have an unrelated question. Do you still have the Linnstrument? That livestream you did with it was really cool. i love these tips, i love how they're super focused on getting stuff done, faffing about is always so distracting
Hehehe I’m glad they resonate 🙏
Glad to see you back at it. More useful info to keep us inspired to try new things. Thanks.
Glad to be back! Glad to be able to provide some inspo 🥰
👏 Great mate! Lovely tips.
ps: the tool "Transient Control" in Bitwig, does not do what you are doing in Ableton?
I LOVE U TÂCHES
Nice vid thx.. 👌🏻

I see someone said that.
maybe one day bitwig & ableton will get a pianoroll. Both of them still don't got one
Please charge your MacBook now !!! 3:33
