Aww it's so sweet to take care of your grandma's nails. Pampering and care is ageless. Your grandma's hands are beautiful, God bless her and you for taking care of her. Great e-file too!
I love a lightweight handpiece as long as the efile still gets the job done! Grandma has such lovely hands, her skin does not give away her age at all. You did a lovely job, as always. Thank you for also stressing the importance of caution and safety when working on a slighter older clientele and clientele with health issues, especially diabetes. I so often see videos of very aggressive pedicures being done on older people with severely ingrown nails and I cannot help but be horrified at the risks being taken. I always love how detailed you are in explaining efile safety and just good practices in general. Your work is impeccable! I hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well.
The first nail channel I ever started watching that got me interested in nails was Kirsty Meakin. I am so glad she mentioned you on her channel and I looked for you!! I love watching both of your channels now!!! And I love love LOVE that you take such good care of your grandma! You're AMAZING!! I'm sure your precious grandma loves you so very much!! 😍
@@shiningstar2903 I’m so sorry to hear that. Like I said, I like the Atena quite a bit for the price. I’m mainly working on myself but it’s easier than having the cord attached. A bit difficult on my non dominant hand but not due to vibration or something like that. I always wack my skin around one of those fingers but between that and hand filing I usually get things accomplished. Sometimes I’ll do my good hand one day and my non dominant the next day to break it up some because I have arthritis so twisting my wrist around so I can see them is a little irritating because of the arthritis but otherwise I love my little cordless Atena.
@@cjinpa5713 I have the same problem with my wrists, but it's from carpel tunnel (can never spell that right). It takes me forever to do my nails because of it. 😒
@@marielanders4806 I still need to find out for sure if it is arthritis or carpal tunnel but it’s for sure one or the other. Sometimes it aches other times it sharp pain and it can be sore for days at a time. Weakness all of the sudden at certain angles but I’ll get the base down on each hand then decorate one and con’s back the next day for the other. Give me time to recharge the portable efile in between too. Sounds like the two of us should be doing each other’s nails 😃who knows, if still may take us two days 😆
I have an e file with a slightly heavier handpiece and I found that it suits me surprisingly well and helps me control the pressure better. But I only do this as a hobby, I can see how someone who uses it for multiple hours a day may prefer a slim and lightweight handpiece.
I used to do my Mom’s nails every week. Your grandma’s hands remind me of hers. I miss her so much for 28 years now. She never met my children and now my daughter, her namesake, is expecting.
What a good video! I have a split nail and never thought of cotton to help. The e-file would be great for travel, so it’s on my list now. Thank you for all the tips! 🌸🌸💕💕
I bet your grandma loved her manicure. ❤ I want to get good enough with my efile manicures so I can do my mom and sisters nails like this. I only do my own right now and don't have it down completely, but I'm getting there the more I practice. Thank you for sharing about this efile. It looks like a good one for home use. ❤
I can't get my granny to let me do a manicure let alone polish. U made her hands look perfect!! I'm going to be a grandma. I'm so excited. My daughter that turned 24 yesterday gave me my birthday present (mine was the 12th) on Easter Sunday. I always tell them bit to get me anything but when she handed me a coffee cup that said best grandma ever I didn't mine so much.
I have the Melody Susie hand held wireless portable e-file and it's the only one I use! I only pull out the big one every so often since getting my hand-held. The melody Susie one also will last all day. *Martin's wife Sarah*
As someone who has bought a few e files and does her own nails torque is important to me. Can you include that in your reviews please? I find that the torque is usually lacking in these types of efiles and most affordable efiles unfortunately. Your grandma has lovely hands! 💅
Very nice,…. I am new in nail Business so manicure mobile is my Business and learning on Models … so a light mobile e file would be Perfect 😏 thx for your Videos
Oh no grandma, not scissors! 🙈 Glad you were able to fix her back up! Hoping she's also safe and was able to get out of Russia (if that's where she was to begin with). 💖💖💖
I was thinking about her splitted nail, have you tried IBX on her nails? I had a nail that had split just like hers, as soon as it had a free edge it split and it just got worse over time, I think I had the split for a couple of years 😟 but then I tried IBX and the split just disappeared! I did the IBX treatment in the summer of 2020 and it hasn't come back ever since! 😃
How do you keep the polish from flooding the cuticle and sidewalls? I've been doing my own nails for a while but no matter how light a coat i do it always ends up flooding my cuticle and sidewalls
I had a split toe nail for a few months due to stubbing my toe on the corner of my bed, so I purchased CND's plexigel system and after 1 application my toe was repaired! Maybe you can repair her nails with it. Her nails came out nice 🙂😊
Grandmama, please no more use of your scissors for your nails! Call your granddaughter! Make her do your nails. You've earned it after 87 years of life. I wish I still had a grandma to spoil.
She used her own bits as other than the sanding bands those included kids are awful quality. It's always best to buy/have your own diamond and carbide bits purchased separately. They will be considerably better quality 🥰✨
I have a elderly lady friend she too only likes nudes or pink she had cracks in nails when I started but now I use young nails fiber gel and it works amazingly and I add a shimmer top coat so she shimmers and shines I love her and she gotten bold a few times and had cat and butterflies decals it’s cute her showing off her stickers
Cutting the nails with scissors like that sounds terrifying! Her nails looked so gorgeous when you were done! -side note- you are the only technician I have heard mention the use of dust collectors. What do these look like and is it something hobbyist should consider for home use when using an e-file? Or would a mask be sufficient enough for self protection? Is it safe to assume when using a dust collector, a mask is still being worn? I'm sorry, I have so many questions about it!
@@Megan-cd6sh thank you for the info! I have only been into a nail salon 3 times over the past 10 years. Most recently 1 year ago. I don't recall seeing them using a dust collector at that time, but it's also not something I was looking for. So, I could have easily missed it. I recently got an e file as a gift and intend to use it to remove gel polish. Do of you have any recommendation for reputable sellers on Amazon? I tend to not buy many nail supplies from there unless it is something generic like dotting tools.
@@adyan7173 thank you! Do you have any recommendations? I just got my e file as a gift and intend to use it for gel polish removal. I don't buy many nail supplies from Amazon, so I'm not really sure what to look out for.
I bought an efile that's very similar to this one. The only part that I was disappointed with was that none of the bits have a colour abrasive mark. How is someone to know which is fine and which is coarse? I find that unprofessional!
Your grandmother seems like a wonderful person! Very well done. And thank you for stating that you sometimes use alcohol in place of slip solution. I ran out and wasn't sure what to use for my next set. I've been looking for an adjustable wireless e-file. I'll definitely be looking into this one. Also, how do you know when you've gotten the nail clean? Do you just stop getting debris or does it change texture or color?
I would recommend watching her in depth videos on efile/Russian manicures. She has quite a few if I am not mistaken. If you are not well versed on how to do it before you attempt it you are likely to severely damage your nail plate. And please only do it on yourself until you become proficient, especially if you are not a nail tech or are uninsured. It is a perfectly safe procedure, but only when done right.
@@Megan-cd6sh I'm not trying to sound rude, so please don't take this that way. I've watched most of them and I haven't seen or heard the answer to my question yet. So I asked. But I'm pretty sure that I haven't watched all of them yet so I plan to keep looking. I only do my own nails. I'm planning on becoming a professional at this time, but one never knows where life might take you.
