@@wildcottageknittingI’ve never tried that. Sometimes I sprinkle it around the gardens to try to deter groundhogs and deer…. I’m not sure they really care tho😂
I use the marigolds to dye yarn. It makes a beautiful earthy yellow. The vest my son was wearing at Rhinebeck was dyed with the flowers I grew in my garden. Those vests are getting a little snug so I’m going to dye up two new colors for the next set.
The amount of hair that came off that dog is insane 😂
And she has so much still on her waiting to shed on to the floor tomorrow.
I thought our 2 shed loads😅 Your doggo's hair looks like it would be nice to card up with some wool & spin! 😊

That is a lot of hair coming from the dog. Can I ask what you do with the flowers that are drying?

@@Making_Through_the_Seasons that sounds amazing, I never dyed yarn.
I have actually spun dog hair for a client. Dyeing yarn with the marigolds?
I’ve thought about it. I’m a little worried though that if the item got wet it would smell like wet dog…. Maybe needle felting would be a good use?
as for the Marigolds yes. I’m going to knit a sweater vest for my daughter in yarn I dye with the marigolds. I’m just waiting on the yarn to arrive.
