Whenever she made outrageous allegations against someone, he always believed her, no questions asked, even without proof. He lost everything because of her, his marriage, the condo he was going to retire to, the respect of his family and an entire community, and even his health. Even after everything he did for her, the moment he was no longer of any value to her, she cast him aside like he meant nothing to her. And even after everything she did to so many people, he allowed her to just walk away unpunished. All because of his stupid pride. He was too proud to admit to everyone that he had made a mistake, and too stuborn to admit when he was wrong. He believed that he would have lost face in the community if he did either, and yet he still did. He had a series of strokes and now lives in an assisted living center, practically forsaken by everyone, hardly getting any phone calls or visitors.
This man is too trusting, and he doesn't have that much experience with women. The way she acted at the restaurant indicates that she isn't interested in him.

Me and my mom was never close while I was younger but a couple years before she passed we got really close and just a couple years she passed away and I'm still upset cuz she became so special to me and we was so much alike and I thank God we got close at the end and I forgave her and it was the best decision I ever made in my life
