I hunt but trapping is the worst,u will catch neighbors dog and other domestic pets besides if your going to kill make it fast im 66 so im well educated so don't try
It's great to hear your perspective on hunting and trapping. Every method has its pros and cons, and it’s important to prioritize safety and ethics while in the field. I hear you but I would like to say that if the trapper is educated, he will know how to attract the animal he is targeting and the likely hood of catching any other animal is pretty slim. As you can see, the trap in the video has rubber jaws which do not hurt an animal unlike what most people that tell me they are educated learns when they see the trap in action and the aftereffects when the animal that was trapped is let go. I am also near your age, trapping and the equipment used have changed a lot over the years to ensure untargeted animals are not being hurt. Most states have daily trap check laws to ensure animals are not being left in traps so they can be let go. The misconception of leghold traps breaking legs is just that, I have let these rubber jaw traps close on my hand to prove they do not hurt the caught animals. I know, I cannot change your mind, and I don't intend to, I just want you to do a little research on the new equipment out there for trapping so you can have an informed decision and not go off what you knew 30 years ago about trapping. Trapping got a bad rap because long ago when individuals trapped for a livelihood the methods they used where not as ethical as the methods used today. Just to give you a little more information, here in Arizona you can only use leghold traps on private property. If you and your domestic animals were to get caught in a leghold trap, then you would have been trespassing which is the only way that could happen. The way you word the comment, you make it sound like trappers are trapping in neighborhoods and in all my years and all the different trapping conventions and rendezvous I have been to I have never heard of an avid trapper trapping in neighborhoods. That makes no sense unless someone is trying to trap a nuisance animal that was taking their domestic pets as food.
