It's because the way it's pronounced, "ba", is very similar to the word "fa", which means "to make fortune". Hence why a lot of the ride and area surrounding it features the number 8. The mining town was founded on August 8th, 1888, and the "Lucky Lode" of gold in the ride was found in Shaft 8. However, after the grizzly accidentally switches the track, the mine cart goes through Shaft 4. In Chinese culture, 4 is the unlucky number, as it is pronunced "si", which sounds very similar to their word for death. It's also why you don't see some buildings in China with a 4th floor, similar to how sole buildings in the US don't have a 13th floor.
Although the Shafts Four and Eight bit would have to be changed since the reference doesn't work outside Asia. Maybe change Eight to Seven, and Four to Thirteen?
WDW already has Expedition Everest. It would be redundant to build this at Epcot. That would be like building Tron Lightcycle Power Run right next to Space Mountain.. oh wait......

Since Magic Kingdom has Thunder Mountain, this would be perfect for an addition to Canada at EPCOT.

That looks like it would be fun, although I never liked the idea of riding the roller coaster at The Animal Kingdom that also goes backwards.
I rode this two times good luck if you’re on the front seat especially the explosion and the backward launch
