Great collection of hardbacks, so many great covers. Hope you start sleeping better. You always get me interested in authors, Chad Oliver is someone who sounds right up my alley.
Wonderful Collection! Great copy of "Fury" and so many. I will look for "The Essential Murray Leinster" In High School, I read SF a lot at night, when stressed over an upcoming wrestling meet. Usually helped getting to sleep. Still does.
@sciencefictionreads do you! I shall watch with interest later. I finished editing my FULL LIBRARY TOUR video yesterday. It weighs in at 75 minutes. Epic.
I didn’t think I’d end up watching someone go through their bookshelf, but here we are! Got some great book recommendations out of it. I couldn't make it through Perdido Street Station, though. I kept feeling lost-like I was missing key details, even though it was supposed to be the first in the series. It felt like starting in the middle, and that threw me off. I just couldn’t get into it.
Thank you. I really enjoyed the tour. That was funny timing on the spooky books. My heart goes out to you, I've been having concentration problems with reading for a while, so I share your concerns about short stories, reading the right book to suit the mood, and issues like that. So far it's meant audio books and long walks. Good luck.
@sciencefictionreads I recommend increased exercise to help with the insomnia, and nonfiction for the increased exercise (for example at the gym) for simpler tasks to isolate your consciousness ( like walking) you can enjoy the fiction. Don't underestimate your local library and whatever apps they offer access to like hoopla, boundless, Axis360, Palace, and if you must, the saddest of all library apps, libby. Still, they're free and allow you to nose around an awful lot of books and see which ones may be there to support you. Yeah, that's my prescription, cuz I'm like, *Totally* a real doctor, and stuff. Good Luck.
I found that same Star Child Trilogy for a dollar in a used book store a few years ago, read it on vacation, and loved it! Interesting to hear it is not well regarded online...
@@crab0traps0now Just some reviews I read and have heard weren’t very great. Not necessarily the majority feeling toward the trilogy. I should read it before saying such things 😝
Jealous of your 1st of Perdido Street Station! The subterranean press Reynolds look lovely! But pote tially bad for my wallet. I have that same edition of Take Back Plenty, i really enjoyed it. Some wonderful books there Matt. Shame we dont live nearby, we could swap hardbacks for paperbacks! All the best, Jon.
Man, I love this! If only I had the room for hardbacks over paperbacks. I picked up Stargate by Gedge (Alberta represent!) and I'm so curious about it now.
I hope you enjoy Stargate whenever you get around to checking it out. I've been praising it so long, i hope it holds up to my memory of its being great lol! At some point i think Richard, Ira and i will buddy read it.
Dizzying. Your video is giving me Sci-Fi Greed. But then it sends me to my own shelves too and I get excited about my own books, lol. In the end one thing sticks out: those Nesfa Press omnibuses are extremely appealing. I must investigate online to secure some. Thanks for the visit! 7🪐
Woah! Impressive! Feeling a bit of library envy.

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on him sometime. Not the most exciting prose but interesting stuff and themes!
oh man, I want those China Mieville hard covers in the worst way

Ordered the Leinster off Amazon!
Glad you found a copy! I love what I've read of Leinster!
Great tour. Thank you for sharing!
Oooh 👀👀👀

Perdido is not perfect. There’s too much going on at times. Like he threw every idea he possibly could into it. Somehow it worked for me though.
nice shelf tour love nosing through other peoples libraries
Same here! Thanks for watching.
Love the pumpkin! Glad to see book club editions getting some respect these days.
I cant resist grabbing book clubs when i see them. They always have such excellent cover art.
Thank you. I really enjoyed the tour.

@@waltera13 I think audiobooks are in my future. Never been a fan but it may be easier to ‘read’ that way for awhile 👍

Agreed! We’d have made plenty of trades by now. Usually most of the Sub Press Reynolds can be found for decent prices!

I love your channel, man! Any vid on Ron Goulart's work in the pipeline? 😊
I have yet to read anything by him, but will keep an eye out for his books. I know his stuff tends to have a bit of humor in it!
Love the bookshelves! Im collexting too but tend not to go dor BCEs. Where do you do your buying?
Thanks! I buy used books anywhere i can. Bookstores, antique stores, library sales, Facebook Marketplace etc!

NESFA is great! I suggest going to their website and buying it from them directly, if I remember correctly their shipping included. . .
You will be further intrigued once looking into Nesfa Press! They publish lots of great sf collections!
@@waltera13 Thanks for the info!
