I dont understand where the pull phase begin, meaning when i am actively applying force to the water. Is it when my pulling arm is in front of the shoulder or when my forearm, elbow and shoulder are all aligned in a plane?

Not much of a pro, just patient. Premiere Pro for video editing, and used Adobe Illustrator for all the line drawings. No fancy animation software. Take a still of a swimmer in premiere pro, use that as template image in AI, draw with 'curvature tool' then move forward in video a few more frames, take another still image, template that in AI, draw using 'curvature' tool again, and repeat. Hence why I say Patience. It took some time.

What happens if you speed up your pull? Instead of fast to slow... slow to fast? Will this help body position?

My *logic* says "slow to fast" might be more resistant. Perhaps "fast to slow" MIGHT HELP to propel better. *Do what is most natural to Your body* 👊🏊 🥪💪
