Ha! Yeah, I really love this little camera. The built in ND filter, the leaf shutter... Man- it's a great camera. Cheers!

Nice video, man, I like these reviews not concerned with specs, but with the feel of shooting with the equipment.
The X100 is from February 2011 (announced in 2010, though). That camera was a success, but unfortunately, that tsunami hit Japan and Sendai was one of the most affected areas. Fuji factory stopped for two weeks (I guess) before they moved to another building. Until today, the building is still there, but not used because of the hazard.
X100S is from 2013 and X100T is from 2014. I own an X100S (I bought one this year, 2016, for those who may read this comment in the future) and it's an incredible camera for street photography.
Oh, do you watch bigheadtaco channel? Take Kayo always starts and finishes his videos doing that “click click” thing, but he also says it loud “click click”. I could almost hear his voice when you finished your video.

What's the current price of it ? Is it a great pick for street photography ? Or the Fujifilm X100 ?

Love you vids ! I am a film shooter. You know what keeps me from investing in a Digital Camera from Fuji or any other manufacturer. It's the fear of that digital look when you zoom into the image. The resolution on magnification. Years ago I bought a Nikon D90. It was fun. I know that sensors are light years beyond that in quality, but even in 2018, I want the X-Pro-1. The sensors in the xpro2 amaze me at 51K. Other than the D90, I have always purchased my cameras used at like KEH.com. There are so many cool cameras out there. But, with the advances in sensor technology and the Fuji look, I am really tempted to add the Xpro1 or slightly newer camera to the bag but it has to be a rangefinder kind. Rangefinders and leaf shutters spoiled me. Compared to film, would you say that digital has surpassed image quality based on these Fuji cameras? I do still love film though.

I completely understand what you mean about the digital look. However, as a wedding photographer, digital is the way to go. I get around it by making sure that I really understand the cameras capabilities, and then push the camera only in situations where doing so would be beneficial. My journey around the brands has led me to Fujifilm and Olympus more often than others. This is just personal preference, so your mileage may vary. I find that there are certain camera sensor and lens combinations that are just perfect. The XPro1 and the 35f2, for example, produce some of the nicest tones I have ever seen from a digital camera. I like how the warm colors, yellow specifically, are represented. I also really liked the EM5 plus the 12-40 F2.8 Pro. That combo was a great performer as well. The biggest hurdle most modern digital shooters need to learn to overcome is the basics of exposure. the second thing would be flash. For me, understanding how to use a camera in manual mode, without chimping, is important. Then, understanding how manual flash works makes all the difference. I think it all comes down to knowledge and experience. You'll probably love the Xpro and 35mm combo. It's fantastic. Cheers.

Robert Hamm Thanks Robert ! Your Photos are beautiful ! Great work. Education is key to shooting on the fly. Weddings would stress me the heck out. The fear of having to be everywhere at once.

I love it for that very reason. One of my favorite compliments is when my bride tells me that they didn't notice me during the wedding but found out I was everywhere because of the photos.

x100s or x100t or x70, the prices are so close on the used market, can't decide

Hi Sergio, thanks for your question.
Between the x100s and "T" models, that's a bit of a tough choice. The biggest difference I found between them is speed. You can read why I chose the "S" model here:
      www.roberthammphotography.com/BLOG/My-Favorite-Camera-Fuji-X100s
Also know that you should be able to pick up the "T" with some great deals in the coming months. So keep an eye out for that too.
Between the 100 and 70 models... it's a wide verses standard kind of difference. The 100 model features a 23mm f2 lens, which is about 35mm in full frame equivelancy. Thats more of a standard field of view, but still a little wide. Maybe its better described as a standard wide lens. That's a joke there.
The 70 model has an 18mm f2.8 lens. That is 24mm in full frame. The 70 model is definetly a wide lens.
Although I have 18mm lenses and 23mm (in apsc for both) I find that I prefer the 23mm lens. But this is a matter of preference.
At the same time there are some differences between the two models other than the lens, such as the OVF/EVF in the 100 model and the tilting screen in the 70 model.
I really like the 100 model. The rest is up to you.
      Cheers!

Thanks that really did help, yes I know the best outcome here is to wait until the 100t becomes more affordable but the thing is I cant wait that much, the x100t and the x70 are crazy expensive where I live so I'd to ask a relative to bring me a camera when they return from usa, luckly after seeing ur review I know that the x100s wont dissapoint!

I've been using a Fuji X10 and Fuji X100 for years, and hadn't thought about upgrading till recently. Will probably keep using the x10 and trade in the x100 on an x100s for obvious reasons. The main thing is to keep it simple. Interchangeable lens cameras are way too expensive, complicated, heavy and time consuming for me.

+Alyn Wolf Thanks for your comment. The X100s would be a great upgrade from the x100 for the same reasons you already know. I love my s and use it almost daily. Cheers!

OK, I just lucked out on a like new black Fuji x100s. Man, what a camera. Fits me like a glove. Like it much better than the x100. You and Ken Rockwell and others have been right on about this camera.

I've had this camera for about 3 years now, and even tho it annoys the heck out of me with its auto focusing lol I still love it. It does take some amazing photos. Do you focus manually all the time or keep the biggest focus box in the center?

    • @Ponskippa
      @Ponskippa 8 ปีที่แล้ว

Robert Hamm Photography for sure, thanks for replying! I like hearing any tips from people who use this camera more frequently than I do. I used to leave it in the mode where it can pick its own focus point but it hunts so much in that mode sometimes and if you shoot wide open it'll miss your intended target. I'll try with the smallest focus point!
