    This is awesome. Can you hand wash or put it in the dishwasher? Will the paint/armor etch wear off after a while or is it locked in really good? Thank you for sharing!!

      Sorry for not replying to this comment. I haven't tried putting it in the dishwasher, but when hand washing the paint stays on really well. Thank you!

    Great project ! However, why etch before ? Why not just apply paint colour and bake ?

      the etched glass helps hold on to the paint.

      It helps hold the paint and gives it a different effect. 😊

    This is beautiful.I did not know etching cream could be reused 🤗. I want to etch and color some wine glasses, but not sure if i can bake them.

    Can you not get the oil based paint marker area wet even once its dried? The stencil paper comes off super easy with hot water running over it. I just wasnt sure if you werent aware of that, or if you dont do it because it would take off the marker. Thanks for the video!

      The paint would probably come of if put under water. I'll have to test that out to know for sure. Thanks!

      @@BeCraftyWithMegan I have the answer for this one....Because these are WaterProof pens that are being used - it will wash off if you Soak the item in water right away or within a few hours, however, after about a week it will not come off.
      Side Note-Thank you for this video - Great Job.

    So do you bake it to make it permanent?

    • @BeCraftyWithMegan
      @BeCraftyWithMegan  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The oil based paint stays on without baking it.

    Seen ppl bake them in oven so paint dont come off. Cant remember temp and i know time is 1 hr. But rub n buff stays after it completely dryes even after hand washin

      Rub n buff DOES come off after it's been on for a while ..I did try it ,and it comes off with warm water and soap 😢.

    How long does this last? Will it be ok in a dishwasher?

    • @BeCraftyWithMegan
      @BeCraftyWithMegan  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't tried washing it. I don't think it would last in the dishwasher. I'll have to test it out.

    I'm a total newbie to etching glass and really appreciated your tutorial. I was wondering why you opt to leave the cream on for 30 minutes instead of 3? I like the idea of leaving it on longer to make sure it's thorough. Is that why you do it? Thanks!

    • @BeCraftyWithMegan
      @BeCraftyWithMegan  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      When I've left it on for a shorter time, it has spots that don't take or there are streaks. For me, leaving it on longer does give it a better look. I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Thanks for watching!

    Is there a reason it needs to be oil based paints?

    • @BeCraftyWithMegan
      @BeCraftyWithMegan  ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried other paint, and the oil based paint had the best results. The other paint didn't stick as well and weren't as bright.

    Are these dishwasher safe?

    • @BeCraftyWithMegan
      @BeCraftyWithMegan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you want to wash it I would bake it at 350 for 30 minutes. I believe at that point it should be dishwasher safe.

    How long does the paint last? This turned out beautiful

    • @BeCraftyWithMegan
      @BeCraftyWithMegan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      The paint will last. If you make something with this technique you want to wash I would probably bake it at 350 for 30 minutes. The paint won't go anywhere.
