    Thank you for this tutorial. As a beginner i love that you show which colours you use & what you mix them with creating the end result. Theres quite a few other videos & they dont show the colours or how to mix them. You see it when they begin to paint. Thats why these are my fave tutorials. I can match the colours. Thank you its very much appreciated and i think a lot of beginners would agree with me. Merry Christmas 2024 x

    Kristina, first of all I would like to say that you make water coloring look soooooooo easy. I'm struggling but determined to learn. Instead of coloring directly on my card, I decided to do my heart on a separate piece then cut it out and mount it with the thin foam squares. I wasn't really crazy about it until I added the border outline . Wow. That made a huge difference. Thank you for sharing your work through your tutorials.

      @@sensitiveone8305 They are lovely. I need to practice colour mixing more though. I think I picked the wrong primaries, 'cause I make muddy tones of a lot of colours. Gonna try the more modern primaries with magenta etc. :D

    Very pretty. I think I’d paint a rectangular piece then cut the heart. Much easier. Then I’d glue the heart on the card. Although the painted heart is a lovely look it is trickier.

    • @vivianshort6498
      @vivianshort6498 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you saying paint the whole rectangular piece, then cut the heart? If so, I like that idea too!

    • @goldieff
      @goldieff 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. You would then have two pieces you could use. The heart and the negative if you cut carefully.

    Beautiful (and fun) card. This design would look terrific framed as a home decor piece, or even as a front door sign. Can you watercolor on a stretcher canvas? Can't wait to try it! TFS!

    • @andrealavigne7824
      @andrealavigne7824 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know they used to make stretched canvases for watercolor, but I'm not sure if they still do. Someplace like Dick Blick or Cheap Joe's would carry them if they exist. Another option would be to use a regular canvas & coat it with Daniel Smith watercolor ground. You could use either the white or clear ground for that. That will allow the watercolor to "grip" to the canvas. I think, though, if you want to hang it outdoors, you should use a spray varnish after everything has dried--maybe 2-3 coats--just to protect the watercolor. Hope this helps! :)
