It's something you've never done prior to your meeting with him and he does that as part of his humor bit.
Not knocking you. Also, not done with the video and have no idea if Mike is on this list or where you would put him. But we all know where he belongs (full degradation let's go, roast him!!!)

I've never dealt with them personally, but I know a few people who have. They definitely had their moment after blowing up of not being so chill. For years I had seen all of the reports of Axl Rose being an asshole, but my family's old dietician who used to have a clinic in Chicago in the 90's once had him come in to get checked up. He had no idea who he was until he heard a girl screaming in the lobby. Later that day, something happened with GNR's hotel and my dietician offered to house Axl. He told me that he was legitimately the nicest houseguest he had ever had, played the piano for them, was super sweet to the doctors wife and kids, and apparently still occasionally stops by the bar that the doctors son owns. It's been a while since I had this story told to me, so hopefully I didn't get too many details wrong, but I just always found that story interesting considering how Axl is always talked about.

I have an interesting story about Slayer. About 12 years ago I went to a concert with child of bodom, Mastodon, Lamb of God and he Slayer as the headliners, anyways after I was done raging in general admission after Mastodon. I retired to a seat in the stands. I had a really good view and I can see the crowd, the stage, Lamb of God playing and the best part of my view I got to see backstage and what I saw were the members of Slayer hanging out and playing with their kids bouncing a ball around. Business and the profit motive are separate to capitalism. Socialists don’t say that people can’t make money, they just say that the people who should make the money are the people actually producing the wealth and doing the work, not just the jackass who had the idea and the initial investment who gets to run his business like a little dictator.

It's interesting how regional a lot of rock aesthetics and what is considered cool are. Being from the northeast, a lot of what I guess would either be Red State Rock Festival or Inland Empire fashion came off as incredibly uncool. I was a big Avenged Sevenfold fan until my friend made the comment that "Their music just sounds like the soundtrack to a 10 year old daydreaming about being in a motorcycle chase" and I couldn't unhear that.
To your point about Slayer, while they're Latino, there are tons of white Cubans and Chileans. Southern cone countries have a lot of people with basically 100% European ancestry. I think like 65% of Cubans identify as white (although "White" in the Latin American context is a bit more socio-cultural than it is in America and a lot of people who identify as white have some mixed ancestry). Countries like Brazil and Mexico have much higher rates of mixed ancestry. I studied in Buenos Aires and the vast majority of non-immigrants had mostly Italian(Genoese in particular, so even whiter looking than Italian-Americans) heritage. IDK any specifics about Slayer, but a lot of times American conceptions of race don't map neatly onto Latin America,

still can't believe that when I was 12 I had a special meeting with Fred Durst thanks to my rock camp. The saddest part that I didn't even know who Fred Durst is back then because I was simping Andy Biersack.

A good twenty something years ago, around the "In A Reverie" phase, I accidentally almost knocked a big fat burger out of her hands, when I bumped into her at a dark smoky little concert in Belgium. (Den Biebop in Vosselaar)
I had no idea who that chick was until I saw her on the stage later that evening, and I was suddenly hooked for life.

Just so we're clear, "Hispanic" isn't a race. It's an ethnolinguistic grouping. There are Hispanic peoples of all racial backgrounds. So just because he's Hispanic it doesn't mean he can't be a white supremacist (I'm not saying he IS mind you, just that he's not precluded simply because of his ethnicity).

    Shirley Manson (Garbage)
